Smart Steps: Problem Solving for Computer Science and Engineering
From 125.39 C$ /h
Welcome to the starting line of how software actually works!
This class is designed for anyone curious about how we get computers to solve problems efficiently. You don’t need to be a math genius or an expert coder yet, this class is all about training your brain to think step-by-step.
What You'll Learn:
Thinking in Steps: How to take a big, messy problem and write clear instructions for a computer to follow.
Organizing Information: Discovering the best ways to store and arrange data.
Classic Strategies: Learning the smart, time-tested tricks programmers use to sort data, search for answers, and tackle tough tasks.
Think of this course as learning the blueprints behind your favorite apps and systems. By the end, you won't just be writing code, you'll understand the clever logic that makes that code run fast and smart.
If there is anything you would like to discuss or learn I am freely to that.

About Me
My name is Lamberto and I am a 22-year-old Italian Computer Science graduate. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), and I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Science at ETH Zurich, majoring in Machine Intelligence.
My academic journey began in 2022 when I enrolled in the Computer Science Bachelor program at USI. Prior to that, I attended the International School of Verona “Aleardo Aleardi,” where I completed both my international middle school program and a four-year Liceo delle Scienze Applicate pioneering program. This innovative program allowed students to achieve the Italian high school diploma in four years instead of five, while maintaining the same academic standards and outcomes. I graduated with a final grade of 100/100. During those years, I also completed a Dual Diploma Program in collaboration with a school in Miami, Florida, graduating with honors.
Throughout my university studies, I had the opportunity to broaden both my academic and personal horizons. I spent time living in different cities and countries, including Berlin, where I lived with a host family and attended a German school, strengthening my language skills and cultural adaptability. I also had the chance to exchange in Copenhagen, a true rewarding experience. These experiences taught me responsibility, open-mindedness, and the value of multicultural environments.
Over the years, my academic interests have evolved into a strong and focused passion for Machine Learning, algorithms, and problem-solving. What initially started as curiosity has grown into a genuine drive. I enjoy tackling complex challenges, transforming ideas into code, and deepening my understanding of intelligent systems. Innovation excites me, the rapid evolution of technology motivates me to learn continuously, refine my skills, and explore new concepts. For me, Computer Science is not just a field of study; it is a mindset that pushes me to think critically and creatively every day.
Alongside my academic path, sports have played a fundamental role in shaping who I am. I was a competitive football player for ten years before dedicating myself to sailing, where I competed professionally for over eight years. During this period, I achieved significant results, including ranking first nationally in my boat category and becoming Italian champion. More recently, I have developed a passion for long-distance running. On November 17th, 2024, after just over three months of preparation, I completed my first marathon in 3:39:36.
These experiences reflect my determination, discipline, and ability to commit fully to my goals, qualities that I bring into both my academic and personal life
