Science, Maths and Test Prep Tutoring for GCSE and A-level students
From 63.44 C$ /h
I specialise in science and maths tutoring for GCSE and A-level students, or for anyone looking to further their knowledge in these areas.
I am experienced in tutoring virtually as well as in person. I aim to challenge my students whilst helping to grow their confidence in these areas. I also give revision tips and strategies for answering exam questions.
In the first session, we will put together a list of topics that the student finds most challenging and would like to cover. In the following tutorials, I will spend the first half explaining the topic, particularly tackling any particular issues that the student would like to go through with this topic. In the next half of the session, we will go through exam questions together and the student can ask me any questions that they may have from work set in the classroom. I will prepare the tutorials in advance with the aim of including helpful diagrams, notes and examples to go through in the sessions, I also include a copy of the specification for that topic, highlighting any key points. I set a couple of homework questions after the tutorial sessions in order to consolidate what we covered in the session. I will include my copy of the answers, but if they have any questions or problems we can sort them out in the next tutorial. Where possible, I will also try and give some ‘real life context’ to topics and questions, in order to demonstrate their importance and to inspire my students!

About Me
I graduated from the University of York in 2020 with an upper second class honours BSc in chemistry, specifying in biological and medicinal chemistry. I have tutored science and maths online since I started university and I am experienced at teaching and communicating virtually. I completed my dissertation researching a type of personalized cancer treatment which inhibits a critical part of the cancel cell growth cycle. I believe that chemistry is an integral subject which combines all of the sciences to explain many of the fundamental principles in science.
