I have tutored a class of 10-12 GCSE Spanish students for 4 months. Here I taught them key skills but was able to assist individuals by going through questions with them if they were struggling.
During this time, one of the students asked for private sessions as they felt more comfortable and felt like they would learn more. For three months, I spent 45 minutes with this student every week and helped them understand Spanish better. I received feedback from teachers stating that the student that I was tutoring was achieving higher grades on tests. They were also more confident in class, they would participate more often and they would help other students too. This gave me personal satisfaction as I was able to guide a student to achieve good grades but also grow a passion for the subject.

I have also tutored Year 12 and Year 13 students. A method I did to teach the students was when I would teach them a concept and then ask them to relay what they have learnt back to me - here I would act like someone who had no knowledge of the topic and would ask questions. At times when the students would be struggling, I would step in and help. This was beneficial for me because I was able to see what I had to go over with the students again and made sure that they were able to put it into practice by doing several questions.
