Are you uncertain, confused, frustrated about a Math question or concept? Or are you just wanting to make sure you are correct and ready for tests or exams?

This is an opportunity for you to come with specific questions which we can work on together. Please note that each student is urged to be an active player, and not a spectator on the sidelines. The tutor will not just give away answers but will seek to help you grasp and strengthen concepts and skills. But don’t worry...you will be treated with kindness and compassion no matter what your needs or abilities are. We just ask that you be willing to think and discuss and try.

-you will be provided with a Zoom link from the tutor’s account
-both the student and the tutor will make use of the audio, video and interactive whiteboard features
-each session will be recorded by the tutor and made available to you (for at least 1 month from the date of the session) upon your request, for review purposes and for your online safety assurance. A student has the right to decline that a session be recorded.
-the tutor has nearly 40 years of public high school Math classroom and tutoring experience, and is in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

-note: the tutor is comfortable will almost all high school Math topics, EXCEPT Coding, Statistics, Combinatorics, or complex problem-solving (such as for Math contests).

About Me

Whether Math is a comfortable subject for you or one that causes you much frustration, it would be my privilege to get to know your needs and work together to help you achieve your goals.

I have been a Math teacher for about 37 years, and taught in 4 public high schools in southwestern Ontario, Canada, until my retirement from the classroom in 2017, when I shifted to part-time online Math tutoring with a program for the province of Ontario. I recently finished my involvement with them and am pleased to be available through Apprentus. Though my experience has been within Ontario, many of my students have been newcomers to Canada from multiple countries and languages. I welcome the opportunity to engage with people from other countries...if we can work out suitable arrangements across time zones :)

I love working with teens and adults who want to learn and grow. I have done that in formal education (such as teaching Math, Science, French, and newcomers to Canada), and also in other spheres of my life in volunteer counselling, charities and church.

I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years.

The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Throughout my years of training, I studied and developed numerous techniques that facilitate learning mathematics. The strength of my teaching approach lies in my ability to explain, in simple terms, anything a student finds complicated. I am passionate about this profession because it offers me the opportunity to guide struggling students toward success. It is a true pleasure to see them progress and rediscover their connection with the fascinating world of mathematics.

I offer private tutoring in Paris (at the student's home) or remotely (online). My online lessons take place on an interactive whiteboard. This whiteboard is specifically designed to facilitate student/teacher interaction online. Thanks to this teaching tool, my online lessons are just as effective as in-person lessons.
