About Me

I am a piano and keys player and have performed with bands, in musical theater, in cabaret and backed comedians. I have composed for musical theater and plays and have written with friends and colleagues on some semi successful ventures. I play classical and contemporary music to a high standard and offer lessons in this alongside the relevant music theory.

I have a masters degree in Music Industry Innovation & Enterprise from Waterbear Education alongside a Ba (Hons) in Music Industry Studies from the Academy Of Contemporary Music

I'm a piano teacher, providing lessons in the Guildford area. Having taught the piano now for 5 years, I love passing on my knowledge in a fun and inspiring way to help you improve. I've taught all ages from 4 years old and above at a range of levels. I myself have a degree in Music with the piano being my primary study.

As a pianist and musical director myself, I'm a huge advocate of learning to play the styles of music that you love, whether this be popular, jazz, classical or musical theatre. My lessons aim to create well-rounded musicians that understand and enjoy the music they're playing. My students have the option to take graded instrumental exams with ABRSM, however the focus is always on enjoying what you're leaning and so if that isn't the right path for you or your child then we will look at other methods of progression.

Teaching takes place in my studio in Burpham, Guildford. I'm also able to teach music theory and focused classes on piano accompaniment.

Music is for all! Kyriakos strongly believes that passion and hard work is what leads a student to a great success. Of course, talent is needed, but the student’s systematic practice is the primary key for each player to be developed musically and instrumentally.

Kyriakos’s approach is personalised, always depending on the age, the student’s goals, and the availability of a student to practice at home. Except from the basic exercises, students are encouraged to express their selves in the lesson, to start developing musical and critical thinking and to engage their personalities, feelings, and expressions, and therefore reflect those parameters upon their pieces.

Kyriakos aims to provide the necessary tuition which will ultimately lead the students to make their first steps towards the artistic “trip” of finding their own, personal performance or compositional style. Student’s goals are always the first priority when teaching music, as each student will have the opportunity to engage with different musical genres, including classical, rock, pop and folk.

I have a Doctorate in Music, Christ's Cambridge. I am able to teach piano, guitar, double bass, bass guitar, ukulele, banjo and mandolin, some to advanced level and others to conservatoire level. I have played in over 30 W End shows and with many famous orchestras and artists. I have a current [4 months old] Enhanced DBS and my own transport. I am vastly experienced.

I have taught the Rockschool and Trinity syllabus’s. My student’s have a very high pass rate, the majority of students receiving Merit’s or Distinction’s. If you’re not particularly interested in taking grades, we can learn songs of your choice! No matter the style we can learn whatever you’d like.

I am an experienced guitar tutor teaching lessons face-to-face and online. I also cater to groups. I have been a musician for over 20 years and have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, giving me a vast range of knowledge, teaching methodologies, and learning resources.

This class is specific to children as it fosters a love of music and music creation via easy-to-learn and play tunes, notation reading and developing ear skills. Learning music and guitar at a young age is a wonderful way to learn a new skill which boosts confidence, teaches effort and rewards relationships, creates discipline, and helps children take pride in their achievements and performances.

We will learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar, focusing on developing good techniques across both the left and right hand enabling faster growth and easier self-directed study. We will learn a selection of short tunes/melodies, chords and some sight reading. Grades are an option for those interested but my main aim is to bring the joy of guitar to the lessons!
