About Me
Salomé Sandoval's Teaching Statement
As a lecturer and classroom teacher I love finding ways to engage diverse groups of students, using appealing audio-visual resources and live performance experiences. When teaching one-on-one lessons in voice, lutes, guitars and keyboards, I am passionate about tailoring the class to fit the different sensory styles of learning, and to make the students thrive and succeed in their personal and academic goals. I believe that with patience and fun educational exercises, learning music is possible for anyone no matter their age, background or experience. Some of the specialized teaching I do guides students to be able to sing their favorite songs while accompanying themselves.
Over the past 30 years, my style has evolved and molded to various outlets, languages and cultures, using a strong emphasis on parent/student co-teaching and learning, social outreach and technology.
