About Me
Fiorella Camilleri is a distinguished Maltese flutist and **Sub\-Principal Flute/Piccolo of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra**, a position she has held since 2004\. With more than two decades of professional orchestral experience, she has performed extensively in Malta and internationally, collaborating with leading conductors, soloists and musicians and participating in major concert tours and artistic projects\.
She holds a **Master’s degree in Flute Performance** from the Istituto Pareggiato Orazio Vecchi Tonelli in Modena, Italy, and a **BA (Hons) in International Relations** from the University of Malta\. She also holds **ATCL and LTCL diplomas with distinction**\. Her musical development has included studies with prominent flautists in Italy and internationally\.
As a chamber musician, Fiorella has developed projects that connect classical music with different cultural traditions\. She is a founding member of the **Arcana Quintet**, specialising in Astor Piazzolla, and performs in flute and guitar collaborations exploring **Cuban, Latin American and world music**\. Her projects have brought together musicians from Malta, Cuba, Mexico, Italy and other international backgrounds, including performances in India\.
Her dual background in **music and international relations** informs her growing interest in cultural diplomacy, intercultural dialogue and the role of music in connecting communities across borders\. She performs on a **14K Muramatsu flute** and **Philip Hammig wooden piccolo**\.
