Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. About the Lesson

I am a patient and dedicated piano teacher, working with students of all ages and levels. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, learning style, and musical interests.

I can teach you reading sheet music or playing by ear, depending on your preference and goals. I can also help you improvise and create your own music in the styles you enjoy.

I focus on healthy technique, musicality, and effective practice habits to build confidence and avoid tension or injury. I also help students develop a technique that prevents common issues such as tendonitis, which is very important for long-term playing. You’ll also receive support outside lessons, including answers, feedback, and video explanations when needed.

I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1–8 and Diplomas), but I also teach students who simply want to enjoy playing. My students range from age 3 to 75+, and all make meaningful progress.

Online lessons are just as effective as in-person ones. I use a professional multi-camera setup and high-quality audio so you can clearly see technique and movement. Most of my lessons (95%+) are taught online.

Curriculum

There is no single method that fits everyone, so I adapt all materials to you.

For beginners, I often use Alfred’s Basic Piano Library. For classical and jazz development, I work with ABRSM and Trinity syllabi. I’m always happy to use other methods if you prefer.

Alongside structured materials, I include music you enjoy and focus on essential skills that apply across all styles—from classical to modern music.

Piano Lessons in Bebek, Istanbul – Children & Adults

With 15 years of teaching experience, I offer individual piano lessons for children from age 3, as well as teenagers and adults, at Poco Piano, a boutique music studio located in Bebek, Istanbul.

Lessons are individually planned according to each student's age, level, learning pace and musical goals. My approach combines classical piano training with music theory, sight-reading, ear training and musicianship, creating a strong musical foundation rather than focusing only on learning individual pieces.

For young beginners (ages 3–6), lessons are adapted to the child's attention span and developmental stage. The first goal is to build a positive relationship with the instrument and teacher while gradually introducing rhythm, pitch, keyboard orientation and basic musical concepts.

For school-age students, teenagers and adults, lessons may include classical repertoire, technique, sight-reading, music theory and preparation for internationally recognised music examinations.

ABRSM & LCME Exam Preparation

New students may attend a short complimentary introductory session before registration. This session is designed to meet the teacher, discuss the student's goals and determine the most appropriate lesson programme and duration.

Regular lessons are individually planned according to the student's age, level and musical goals.

Online piano lessons for all ages, and from very beginners up to ABRSM grade 8. Focussed on learning classical technique, along with supporting music theory, but while making it fun along the way.

Lessons will take place online, preferably via Zoom, but I can use other software if needed.

My preference is to use Faber's Piano Adventures method, but I will always be flexible to the needs of the student.

I am able to prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams where appropriate.
