From 162.07 C$ /h
Lessons are crafted around you! Learn to read music AND play by ear! Learn from a master teacher, Joel, with 15 years of teaching experience, 35 years of performing experience, and a current professional singer/pianist for events, restaurants, bars, and music venues. Joel also holds a B.A. and M.M in Music.
"Joel came to Music and Arts with an eagerness to teach piano and voice. He built two full days of teaching with us and had a great record of student satisfaction! He treats teaching with a structured, yet fun approach...he crafts each lesson individually for the student. For this reason, he is able to take on a larger student population in regard to age, background, culture, and skill level."
- Hannah Best, Manager, Music and Arts Music Stores
"Joel really helped me to learn the piano fast, introducing a by-ear method for blues, in addition to learning to read music. He also helped me in college with music production and composition."
- Zoba Ndife, Los Angeles, CA
"Joel has been teaching my 10 year-old daughter piano for 2 years and counting... he is so kind, patient, and talented! I am amazed at her skills that he has taught her and she has a blast learning with him!"
- Shannynne B., Redondo Beach, CA
"Joel did a great job with our daughter who took lessons with him for about 3 years starting at age 6. She learned a lot and had fun doing it. I was impressed with how much progress she would make week to week."
- Keith J., Torrance, CA
“I'm an adult student, and took composition lessons from Joel for a year, and really learned a lot! Had a blast too!”
- Chris Cooke, Baltimore, MD

I believe lessons should be fun and students should play music they love, while learning technique. I gravitate towards popular styles and jazz, but also have a rich classical background, starting classical piano at age 6 (I’m 41 now), and a life-long singer in a variety of styles. In addition to repertoire, I have used many method books over the years, and also create my own custom worksheets and methods around each student.
