About Me

Music began for me in 2004 as a young guitarist that went on to perform up and down the UK in multiple bands and theatre productions. Composition, production and sound design have always been close to my heart and ultimately led me into the world of Production music. My most recent library album marries the ferocity of industrial music with the lush arrangements of orchestral music. Throughout all this sharing the knowledge I have learned has been incredibly important and fulfilling to me and I now spend the majority of my time teaching.

As a professional guitarist with years of experience playing many different styles of music, I am able to specialise for each student and the style they want to play. Whether it is Rock, Metal or Acoustic Pop, I am well versed in the various techniques and stylistic sensibilities to help students play what really excites them. And that's the most important thing since music is so subjective!

The student always comes away with a goal for the next meeting so that there is continuity and enforces the importance of everyday practice.

I teach both electric and acoustic guitar to all ages and abilities and teach multiple genres specialising in: Blues, Jazz, Rock, Indie, Pop, Funk and Soul.

I have both a Masters Degree and an Undergraduate degree in music and have worked as a professional gigging musician since graduating.

I received jazz guitar tuition throughout my university education from accomplished tutors including Jamie Taylor and Ulrich Elbracht and have gone on to play jazz guitar professionally for a number of artists and groups as well as having weekly residencies at the Domino Club and Sela Bar. I have played jazz guitar alongside artists including John Surman and Jean Toussaint at prestigious events such as Montreux Jazz Festival.

I have played guitar at a very high professional level for both function and commercial bands as well as in original rock, pop, soul and funk bands. Through doing this I have played for large audiences at venues and festivals including Boomtown, The Hootananny (Brixton), The ICC (Birmingham) and many others. I have also had music I have written, produced and played guitar, bass and keys on featured on radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Rock Current and many local and regional stations.

In piano lessons, you can expect to learn the basics of piano notes/chords/scales, how to read sheet music, and the proper fingerings and technique. You can also expect to advance towards learning classical piano music, Jazz music and pop music.

I'm a Leeds Conservatoire Graduate with a First-Class Degree in Popular Music - Voice Performance. Professional Singer, Musician, and Performer. My appearances include performing at the Royal Albert Hall, various Television broadcasts, 5-star luxury hotels & resorts, and high-end cocktail bars. Making me an excellent option if you want professional feedback and like to work with industry professionals.

Musical Background:
My relationship with music began at the age of 9, when I started piano lessons and soon joined my teacher’s children’s choir, quickly stepping into receiving solos. At 14, I began one-to-one vocal training, and within two years I achieved Trinity Grade 8 with Distinction, earning the Highest Mark of the Year nationally. In 2019, I completed ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, and in 2020, I was accepted with an unconditional offer to study Popular Music at the prestigious Leeds Conservatoire, where I graduated in 2024 with First-Class Honours.

My teaching technique and methodology are flexible and vary according to your learning style, aims, and goals. I have experience teaching a wide age range (6-70 years old), and I am adaptable and comfortable in teaching and tailoring lessons according to my students' experience, needs, goals, and aims. My existing students particularly highlight my communication and ability to effectively transfer knowledge, whilst at the same time having engaging, fun, and enjoyable lessons with me.

I have been professionally coaching and teaching since 2023, working with over 100 students to develop their skills in singing, piano, music theory, and songwriting.

Until recently, I was part of a teaching team at a music school in the UK, delivering one-to-one lessons. However, earlier this year I decided to pursue this independently and build my very own music coaching business, offering a more personal and flexible approach.
