About Me

Hey there! I'm Luan. I'm a Brazilian musician, composer and I'm here to share my passion.

Every since I started playing I wanted to be like the greats of Brazilian music like Elis Regina, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Tom Jobim, Renato Borghetti and so many others. So I devoted myself to exploring Brazilian music.
But besides playing traditionally, I also felt the need to blend, in my compositions, the tradition of my country with other genres that have influenced me over the years, which include jazz, blues, funk and RnB among others.

I believe that each person has their own way and timing of learning which must be respected by the teacher. So in my lessons you'll learn everything you need to be a great musician, such as technique, reading sheet music, harmony, ear training and much more. And you'll learn everything on your own time, by playing the tunes you like while also acquiring new repertoire through tried methods and suggestions given by me.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams.
