Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from beginners to more advanced. Classical training enables you to sing in any kind of way, so don’t hesitate and let’s sing!

I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.

Learning to play the piano is a wonderful and very diverse experience! Every beginner has to go through it in their own special way in order to realize one's personal aspirations. But sometimes, unfortunately, due to a lack of guidance and direction, the learning process may cause some difficulties followed by unexpected disappointment. If you are in need of said guidance, if your learning experience is not that captivating or satisfying anymore, you don't have to turn away from your dreams of playing the piano - I will gladly help you to get closer to them in a fun and enjoyable way in our lessons! After finishing music school with the highest grades twice as well as a number of additional courses (improvisation, composition, orchestras, etc.) and after honing my teaching skills for more than 4 years, I can safely say that my lessons may prove useful to any type of student with any kind of given objective at hand. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard. Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano. At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable? We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now. During the lessons I am patient, motivating, encouraging, and complimenting. I'll point out what could be better, and also pay attention to how you can play more easily. And much more. Tailored to your needs and wishes.

The Tecla y Música Workshop is a space designed to learn and develop your musical and expressive sense through the piano and / or keyboards. The main objective is to learn to make music and enjoy the learning process and its results. The material with which we work (songs, instrumental pieces and exercises) is mainly oriented to your musical taste, and the choice is based on gradually expanding your technical and expressive possibilities, while exploring different musical styles. In this way, different tools are being incorporated to achieve, in a short term, mastery and fluency over the musical language and the instrument. Given that each student has different interests and concerns, whether playing as a hobby or developing a professional career, composing, improvising, etc., the orientation of the classes is built according to the possibilities and particular needs of each case. The work proposal implies a weekly class frequency to achieve optimal work dynamics and that the results are visible in a short term. There is also the possibility of taking isolated classes in order to solve a specific objective such as developing and perfecting some particular aspect of music practice and / or theory as well as preparing instrument exams or theoretical subjects for institutions of musical studies.

Hey, I am a professional opera singer and a highly educated vocal teacher currently working as a soloist at the Opera of Cologne in Germany. I am a very dedicated and passionate singing teacher with almost 8 years of experience in the profession. I approach my students with great attention and care and together we achieve wonderful results! I hold a Master of Music in Opera degree with Distinction from the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam; a Master of Music with Distinction degree in Vocal Perfomance from the Royal College of Music in London; and a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours in Vocal Pedagogy from the Moscow University of the Humanities. I teach students of all ages and abilities, preparing them for vocal exams and auditions or simply helping them find and develop their voices for everyday life. Teaching voice is my true passion, I always work closely with each student and tailor my lessons according to my student's needs and wishes. During our lessons we will focus on developing a proper singing technique which will allow you to perform a wide range of repertoire from operatic arias and musical theater to pop songs. We will free and strengthen your voice, expand your vocal range, and make you feel secure and confident when singing.
