About Me

I have been a music fanatic since the Beatles hit the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. I started playing drums at age 6 and switched over to guitar in 8th grade. My guitar(s) has been my trusted companion throughout my life. It is fun, therapeutic, a confidence building tool, a creative outlet, a friend maker, a money maker... I could go on and on. Making music, whether it's your own or someone else's, stimulates the right side of one's brain - the intuitive side; good at problem solving side and helps a person to be more comfortable with the unknown. And did I mention it's fun?!? There are few things that can serve you through your entire life - into your autumn years - and the guitar is one of them. It keeps you young, curious and contented. Not bad for 6 strings and a piece of wood.

Education

I graduated from Emerson College and also studied at Berklee College of Music, Washington College and the School of Contemporary Music in Boston. I have also been a Music Supervisor, placing music in commercials and movies.

I have been playing professionally for approximately 45 years and have a deep knowledge of music from the 60’s & 70’s, like the Beatles, The Stones, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Eagles (you know, the music you grew up with). The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:
