About Me

My name is Giuseppe, Jazz Guitarist and Educator based between London (U.K.) and Bologna (Italy). I have been active in the music world for the past 10 years. I have been gigging in the main jazz clubs of London as well as worked for different Music Schools based.

I have gained teaching experience in the last few years by working for many music schools based in the U.K. My main role has been to deliver outstanding and inspirational teaching, to ensure effective student learning in their specific subjects and to achieve excellent results for the students. I have experience in raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment as well as teaching individuals (beginners to advanced)

The last two years of working as a guitar teacher have let me understand what my key responsibilities are. These include the planning of interactive and inspiring lessons that ensure that students make excellent progress; to establish positive behaviour for learning and to inspire a generation of young musicians through engaging, authentic and practical music making. Lastly, I would like to state that I have a strong passion for teaching guitar and I am extremely motivated to continually improve standards, achieve excellence as well as have the ability to motivate and inspire others and to consistently deliver outstanding lessons.

I am a qualified musician who has gained a Bachelor Degree in Music (Music Performance) at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance as well as a Master Degree in Music (Performance, Jazz Guitar) at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have also studied classical guitar privately for a number of years, before moving to the U.K.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

-Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear
- Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords
- Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand
- Learning of different pieces of your choice
