Creative Guitar Lessons for all ages with Craig

Whether you or your child are a total beginner, or if you've been playing music for years and want to expand and develop your abilities - be it harmonic, rhythmic, or compositional tools, I can teach you to add structure to your learning, and make it both personally rewarding and fun.
For over 10 years I have worked as a performer and a guitar teacher for all ages.
Working in many schools (primary and secondary) across East London, I have taught hundreds of children and helped them progress through classical and rock grades with ABRSM and Trinity exam boards.
As a creative musician myself, I also love to focus on the fundamental building blocks of music and how they relate to the guitar.
These blocks - Rhythm, Harmony, and Melody are the cornerstones for all music. Through studying them both separately and together, we can demystify both the fretboard of a guitar, and also learn about our favourite songs, regardless of what style it may be. It also informs the technique we need to develop in order to achieve certain results.
We can then use what we learn to improvise, and create our own music.
This relates to both an absolute beginner and to someone who's already shredding their way around the neck. It's the work that I do myself everyday!
As a performer, I play in many different groups mostly playing jazz, improvised music, and Brazilian music. I lead my own jazz quartet and trio as well. I run regular jam sessions around London, and play an active part in the creative music community.
As well as being a guitarist, I also play Brazilian percussion too.
I studied a BMus in the University of Hull before moving to London to work as a professional musician. Since then, I have studied further with some of the most renowned guitarists in the world including Peter Bernstein, Lage Lund, Nir Felder, Ben Monder and many more.
Some of my own personal favourites include The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Joao Gilberto.

About Me
Originally from Ireland, I live in London UK, working as a professional musician.
I mostly play jazz and Brazilian music, both on guitar and a little bit of percussion too.
I love improvised music and I also love to compose as well.
I know from my own experience that with music, it is an endless pursuit. This may seem daunting, but actually it's what makes it so great. We don't have to be able to do absolutely everything, because it's impossible that we ever could! We can, however, focus on the things that really excite us, and then we'll end up learning about everything else anyway!
