Hello! My name is Shwetank Rao and I am a Tabla teacher and performer from Varanasi, India.

I started learning Tabla at the age of 12 and have dedicated my life to the beautiful tradition of Indian classical music. My musical journey began under the guidance of Pandit Chotelal Mishra Ji of the Banaras Gharana. I later continued my training with Dr. Prem Narayan Singh and further honed my skills under the esteemed Pandit Bholanath Mishra Ji of the Banaras Gharana.

For more than 15 years, I have been teaching Tabla to students of all ages through both online and offline classes. I believe in providing a strong foundation in technique, rhythm, and traditional repertoire while making learning enjoyable and easy to understand. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student, my goal is to help you grow as a confident Tabla player and develop a deep appreciation for Indian classical music.

The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS.

Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress.

Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward.

The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you.

We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire!

The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty.

I am a multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, transverse flute, keyboard), composer and arranger (SACEM member since 2012), excellent improviser. This course will allow you quickly, whatever your instrument and your technical level, to understand and master the chord sequences and the articulation of musical language according to these sequences. The most important matter that I could write here about is my passion to teach. I've been teaching already for more than 10 years, from kids to adults. I'm a classical pianist, but I am opened to other musical styles.
