Graduated from the Music Academy, play the accordion more than 25 years. I love to teach and perform and I would be happy to share my experience with someone who is interested in accordion and music.

I am Vadim –Professional musician and teacher of accordion. In my homeland (Northern Russia) I started at the age of five years of playing the accordion. I could do it quickly play the first songs. I hold a bachelor's degree in jazz music (accordion, keyboards) from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and a master's degree (bandoneon) in World Music / Argentine Tango from Codarts / Hogeschool voor de kunsten (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). Stefan was born in 1992 in Struga, Macedonia, and started playing the accordion at the age of 7. He studied accordion performance at the Music High School DMU "Todor Skalovski – Tetoec" from 2007 to 2011. He continued his accordion performance studies at the Academy of Music, Dance, and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, graduating in 2015. In addition to classical and variety music, he also studied Bulgarian folk music. Since September 2015, he has served as an accordion teacher at the Music High School. Throughout his education, he has had regular performances both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles at various concerts, festivals, and competitions. He has also actively participated in judging panels at numerous competitions at the republic, national, and international levels. His students frequently perform at concerts and important events, achieving numerous accolades at both national and international accordion competitions. Stefan also leads his own band, which specializes in performing Balkan folk music, and has performed at numerous festivals and private parties. Bandoneon is a very well know instrument for playing tango, in fact it's part of the genre's DNA. However, not many people know that the instrument was constructed in Germany and some people even say it was supposed to be used as an portable organ. This means that the Bandoneon has a technique that is independent of any genre. This technique is not found by coping other instruments such as the organ or keyboard but through the development of the nature of the instrument. This is mainly the importance of the air and how it is affected by the pulling and the movement we make when we play. Of course Tango will be an important axis of the lessons as it very important for the development of the instrument and for specific techniques but Tango won't be the starting point as it's not the best pedagogical tool for learning the instrument. But no worries, we'll get there ;) Have you ever wondered how a Gregorian chant, Bach, Mozart & Chopin might sound in the bandoneon? The results might surprise as you would get a very different sound from the one you are originally used to. Also, we can try and use the bandoneon for different and new genres, who knows what we might discover from the instrument along the way?

My name is Helena Sousa and I am a professional musician. I have done my Bachelor and Master of Music in Spain and France, respectively, and now I work as a freelance musician in The Netherlands since December 2017. As a hard-working and active person, I am encouraged to show how music works and how it is essential in life, doing different activities with the student such as listening to music, doing body percussion with different rhythms, singing or playing the instrument. All of these are important activities to develop the skills of the student such as coordination, attention or discipline, along with the most important thing: enjoying music as a fundamental part of life.
