Good day, my name is Mike. I come from Shanghai, China. I'm now studying at Shanghai University.
Chinese is the language of the east, connecting people from many nations.

Does Chinese scare you? The tones, the characters, such a different grammar... You might not know where to start.
Good news: With the right method, it's much less intimidating than it seems! So don't hesitate to contact me!

Before you go any further, let me introduce myself.
I come from Shanghai, China. I got 138(A+) out of 150 in English GaoKao.
I have no problem in English communication at all, and thus I ranked top 0.1% in the English contest for senior high school students in Shanghai, surpassing more than 15 contestants from the Top 4 elite high schools, which includes Shanghai High School. Surprised? That's true.
I have been teaching Chinese down-to-earth in offline training institutions for over 3 years as a professional teacher.
Besides, the HSK exam might be helpful to you(e.g. for overseas students in China/for foreigners working in China).
An organized, systematic course for HSK prep is also free to go!

I offer grammar lessons, conversation practice and/or exam preparation through dynamic and practical classes.
Moreover, if you wish to have a firm grip on this language, thinking in Chinese rather than just reciting the grammar rules is quite crucial.
Anyway, if you're looking for a friendly, patient and dedicated teacher, I'd be delighted to help you achieve your goals!

My methodology is as follows(may not all be included, as your needs go first):
1. I can show the examples of certain pronunciations/tones to you and you can read after me if you want.
2. I can provide you with vivid conversations and fulfill your curiosity by Q&A interactions.
3. I can present you the past papers of HSK and analyze them if you wish.
4. Instead of giving you homework, I hope that you can search more interesting videos and passages from the web, based on your own preference.

My approach combines teaching and mentoring, and I take a holistic approach to ensure improvements in all aspects of a student's development, so no worries at all!

It's okay and normal that my students come from all walks of life. As long as you are willing to learn, there is a way.
I believe that interest is the best teacher, so I'll try my best to prepare before classes and make them effective to students.

Through my own experiences of overcoming obstacles and achieving success, I’m passionate about helping others do the same. Let’s work together to ensure you reach your full potential, both academically and personally!
