Hi! I’m Leona, a native Mandarin speaker currently working as a full-time Chinese teacher at a secondary school in Thailand. I also teach Chinese online and specialize in HSK exam preparation.

I hold a CTCSOL certificate and have experience helping learners prepare for Chinese proficiency exams. My Mandarin pronunciation is clear and standard, and I focus on practical, structured methods that help students improve their performance and achieve measurable results.

**My Teaching Approach**

My main specialty is HSK exam preparation. I help students identify their weaknesses, set realistic study goals, and develop a targeted study plan based on their current level and exam date.

My lessons focus on the skills that matter for the exam, including vocabulary retention, character recognition, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and practice with HSK-style questions. I also offer general Mandarin lessons and can help business professionals improve their Chinese communication skills. For business Chinese, I go beyond vocabulary and expressions to explore the cultural context of communication in Chinese workplaces.

🌍 A Little More About Me

Outside teaching, I'm also learning French! As of the second half of 2026, my French is around the A2–B1 level, and my goal is to reach B1–B2 over the next year.

Being a language learner myself helps me understand how challenging the process can be. I know what it's like to feel stuck, struggle to find effective methods, and wonder whether you're making progress. I bring that perspective into my own teaching.
