Hello, I'm a qualified native Italian teacher fro, Siena. Tuscany (centre of Italy). I graduated in 'Communication, Languages and Cultures' at the University of Siena in 2015 and then I obtained my Cambridge teaching certificate (CELTA) in 2018.

I've been teaching Italian for 8 years, both online and face to face - to individual learners, in schools and companies. I have teaching experience at all levels and ages.

I like to create a friendly environment, focused mainly on conversation and tailor the lessons to the students' needs. Whether you want to learn Italian for work or because you want to travel to Italy, I'll be happy to help you! I'm friendly and I'm passionate about teaching, travelling, food and music!

Hello, I'm Caterina, a passionate Italian teacher from Siena, Tuscany. I've been teaching for more than 8 years both in Italy and in England (Nottingham), where I got my Cambridge teaching certificate.

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing.

Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.
We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them.
In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy.
I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.

Activity: Roleplay — I am the barista in Rome . You order. I pretend to get it wrong. You try again until you succeed.

*Lesson 2: Chi sei?*

Goal: Talk about yourself.
I teach: Sono olandese, Abito a Tilburg, Ho 25 anni, Parlo olandese e inglese e un po' di italiano. Verbs _essere, avere, abitare, parlare_.
Activity: You make a mini Instagram bio in Italian.

*Lesson 3: In giro per l'Italia*

Goal: Survive in the city.

Activity: I share screen with Google Maps of Rome. You have to direct me to the Colosseum — in Italian.

*Lesson 4: Al ristorante*

Activity: Real menu from a restaurant. You have to order for both of you. I teach the golden rule: cappuccino only before 11am.

*Lesson 5: Piccola conversazione*

Goal: Have a 2-minute conversation.
I teach: Mi piace / Non mi piace, Present tense of -are verbs (parlare, amare, viaggiare), Cosa ti piace fare?
Activity: No English allowed for 10 minutes. We both talk about hobbies with the words you have. You will be shocked that you can do it.

You will learn to converse using a method that allowed me to become fluent in Italian in 6 months. It's simply a matter of speaking without worrying about mistakes and, above all, with complete confidence. By speaking regularly, even making mistakes, your brain will automatically adapt its language to match that of the tutor (me) and you will learn vocabulary, grammar, etc., much faster.
