About Me

Good morning everybody! I have been teaching Italian to students of all ages for more than twenty five years. II really enjoy helping people from all over the world to learn my language and my culture.I also prepare students for Italian exams and certifications. All levels welcome.

Education

I have an MA in modern languages, received from the University of Bologna and a teaching qualification issued by the Italian state to teach in Italian high schools.
Certificate of the CILS Exam Administrator Course, issued by the University of Siena.

I have 25 years of teaching experience, in group courses or with individual students. I had my own school of Italian for foreigners from 1994 to 2021. Now I prefer working online giving me the opportunity to work and travel, meeting people from all over the world and from different walks of life.

- I'm a professional Italian teacher from Italy, now living between Pisa and Rome. I have 10 years of teaching experience. I am very patient and I love to make a relaxed and friendly class environment. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests, and availability of the student. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and putting the focus on the functional aspect of the language. I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
