I am Effie. I am a Greek primary school teacher and I have been giving Greek lessons in public schools that are located in Athens for 9 years. I am a certified primary school teacher from University of Thessaly. My first Master's Degree was in Special Education and my second one in teaching Greek as a second language for refugees and migrants. I have 8 years experience in teaching Greek in Special Education and 2 years experience in teaching Greek for refugees and migrants.

I have seen that is really important to adjust the learning goals on students' interests as the lesson to become more funny for them and give them opportunities to use their creativity playing roles in the class or creating a story. Digital tools also make the learning process more interactive. Often I start the lesson bringing in the class items that have to tell us a story and students take the item as a hero and they create a scenario that becomes a part of a bigger project that is linked to other subjects students have been taught at the same period.

About Me

I decided to study Pedagodical Sciences (teaching Greek to kids from 6 to 12 years old) beacuse I love kids. I am patient and kind with them and I totally believe that all kids are smart enough and keep their own traits that make them unique. I also believe that teacher's duty is to find out on what kids are good enough as to create a safe space for them to show themselves out. My ongoing studies in Special Education reassures those beliefs for kids that keep some learning difficulties, until to adapt my teaching plan to their needs.

Teaching Greek as a second language to older students from 13 years old and above is a practice that I keep loving as I can create a very specific plan according to their needs and learning desires and taking direct feedback.

My teaching goals is to assist my students to achieve their learning objectives adapting my teaching methods on their needs. I also aim at enhancing their self-trust through learning process and build self-esteem.
