My name is Marc, and I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer from Peru. I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Sciences. I have lived and studied in Spain growing up as a kid, and have just finished living and working in Peru for the last two years as a Community Health Educator. I know what it is like to start learning a language at 4 years old, which was when my father started teaching me Spanish, and I have 5 years of tutoring and teaching experience. I can help with whatever topics you need, from basic conversational skills to writing and written text correction. My schedule is very flexible, and I am willing to work around whatever times work best for you.

About Me
I am from the United States, but have my dual citizenship in Spain. As a kid, I lived and attended school in Madrid for different periods of time. This provided an opportunity for me to become bilingual in English and Spanish. I studied abroad in 2016 at St. Louis University in Madrid, and after graduating from Loyola Marymount University in 2018 with a degree in Health and Human Sciences, I decided to become a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru.
In Peru, I worked as a Community Health Promoter for two years. My primary tasks were to provide childhood nutrition courses and improve hygiene practices for mothers with kids at risk for or suffering from anemia, and to integrate a reproductive health program into the local high school to help with the prevention of teen pregnancy. Aside from these primary goals, I also helped to start an English summer school program with the help of the teachers from the district.
Besides my work in the Peace Corps, I have five years of experience teaching and tutoring in college. This ranged from tutoring at-risk youth for the Boys and Girls Club, to developing lesson plans as an ESL teacher in Madrid. I learned to love the process of teaching and playing a role in the progression of learning a new language for a student. One of the pillars of the Peace Corps is to provide a space for intercultural exchange, and I hope I can continue that mission of bridging cultural divides.
