I have taken the IELTS examination twice and achieved an overall band score of 7.5 in my most recent exam. I also have several years of experience using English in international professional environments. At Wise, I progressed from Customer Support Specialist to Business Customer Support Team Lead and regularly used English for professional communication, mentoring, training, interviews, meetings, presentations and collaboration with international colleagues and external partners.

Lessons are available online and in person in Tallinn.

Please bring a notebook or a device for taking notes. For online lessons, you will need a stable internet connection, a microphone and a camera if possible.

Before the first lesson, please tell me about your current English level and your main goals. If you are preparing for IELTS, please also share your target band score, planned examination date and previous IELTS results, if available. Learning materials and exercises will be selected according to your individual needs.

About Me

Hi, I’m Tasneem, an English tutor based in Tallinn. I am a friendly, patient and encouraging person who understands that speaking a new language can initially feel uncomfortable or intimidating.

My teaching style is practical, interactive and personalised. I want students to actively use English instead of only memorising grammar rules. Lessons can include guided conversations, real-life scenarios, vocabulary development, pronunciation and grammar correction, IELTS exercises, interview practice, professional emails and workplace communication.

I enjoy teaching teenagers and adults with different backgrounds and goals—from beginners building their foundations to professionals who want to communicate more confidently at work. I create a supportive environment where students can make mistakes, ask questions and improve without feeling judged.

Having lived, studied and worked in several international environments, I understand the challenges of communicating in a language that is not your mother tongue. I speak English, Bengali, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi and some Estonian. This experience helps me explain concepts patiently and adapt to different learners.

During our first lesson, I will assess your current level and discuss what you want to achieve. We will then create a realistic learning plan based on your needs, interests and preferred learning style.

Education

I studied Politics and Governance at Tallinn University and Integrated Engineering at Tallinn University of Technology, where I received an engineering scholarship in recognition of my academic performance.

I also completed an international exchange semester at the University of Oviedo in Spain. Studying in Estonia and Spain gave me extensive experience communicating, studying and collaborating in English within multicultural academic environments.

In addition to my university studies, I have taken the IELTS examination twice. I achieved an overall band score of 7.5 in my most recent examination.

Experience / Qualifications

I have taken the IELTS examination twice and achieved an overall band score of 7.5 in my most recent exam. I use my personal examination experience to help students understand the IELTS format, practise the four assessed skills and develop more effective approaches to speaking, writing, reading and listening tasks.

I also have more than four years of experience working at Wise in an international, English-speaking environment. I progressed through several positions, from Customer Support Specialist and Financial Crime Operations Analyst to Senior Analyst and Business Customer Support Team Lead.

As a team leader and mentor, I trained and onboarded colleagues, provided feedback, supported professional development, conducted interviews and performance discussions, and helped people improve their workplace communication. I regularly used English for customer support, professional writing, meetings, presentations and collaboration with international colleagues, banking partners and other stakeholders.

My professional background makes me particularly well suited to teaching conversational English, IELTS preparation and professional English for job interviews, emails, meetings, presentations and international workplaces.

Although I do not claim to be a certified IELTS instructor, I combine an IELTS score of 7.5 with extensive real-world experience in mentoring, leadership and professional English communication.
