My preferred teaching method is spoken discussions about passages of texts and setting exercises which we can then review together. I find that spoken discussion allows further development in point of analysis in a student. We might start by reviewing an exercise set in the last session, giving feedback as we go, and then continue onto a new passage and finding some analysis points in theme, structure and language.
