About Me
I have much experience in teaching both English and Chinese, which helps me a lot to think about what is to learn a language and what is the difficulty in language learning. It will help if you have an opportunity to practice the target language frequently with someone. And it also helps if you are open minded and flexible to adjust yourself to grammar and usage different to your own language. It means you should be emptied when you are learning a new language --especially when it is totally different to your own mother tongue, like Chinese.
Chinese speaking is tone related. For example, when we say "Yi", it might indicate different words when said in different tones. It is because many Chinese words share the same pronunciation. So it will help you if you also learn to recognize the writing of the words. Step by step, you will dive into both the meaning of the word and the pronunciation simultaneously.
I used to stay in India 4 years and I taught Chinese in a language institute in Mumbai. I enjoyed sharing in my class with college students, teachers and office workers. Of course, I also shared with my neighbors for language exchange --Chinese and Hindi. That was indeed a great experience...We not only exchanged languages but also our cultures and ideologies hidden in them. I sincerely encourage you to take this opportunity to learn Chinese to explore a different sphere together!
