About Me

Valeria is a Peruvian-Italian multidisciplinary artist and educator born in Lima, Peru to a Peruvian mother and an Italian father who then immigrated to Canada when she was 11 years old. Fully raised in two rich cultures, Valeria communicates and performs fluently in Spanish, Italian and English. After graduating from Capilano University, she has collaborated with renowned theatre companies in Canada while working simultaneously in film, TV, voice-over and commercials. Select credits include Supergirl (CW), Crest (International Commercial), Advil (International Commercial), Nexplanon (International Commercial), and voicing several characters on Barbie (Mattel). When she is not performing, she is an arts administrator and works for advocacy groups championing social and racial justice. She works for numerous schools and theatre companies creating drama curricula for education and after-school programs. Valeria holds a TEFL-PP certificate, frequently teaches English and Drama in Italy, and is currently finishing her master's degree in Applied Theatre in Education, Social and Community Contexts at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Wolof is the most spoken language in Senegal, Gambia where it has been enriched by the contributions of other dialects, Arabic and French, which remains the official language. It is experiencing a cultural expansion in the country and is also present in Gambia and Mauritania.

So to facilitate your integration into Senegalese society; it is essential to go through this language because it is the vernacular although there are several beautiful local Senegalese languages but Wolof remains the most used language. this is why I propose to teach the beauty of this language which is my specialty and my mother tongue, I also teach Senegalese and Gambian culture and civilization.

Learning Wolof offers anyone who wishes to get to know Senegal, in a professional, cultural or touristic context, to establish privileged contact with its population.

My method is very simple, I start by teaching you the most common and used words and expressions. Then slowly the formation of sentences, conjugation, grammar but also you how to pronounce each word well and know their positions in the sentence.
Thanks to my very simple and effective teaching methodology, the student can manage to form sentences in Wolof very easily from our first lesson.

I teach Gambian Wolof dialect and senegalese Wolof dialect.

I also want to inform my learners that apart from online courses, I organize language visits and tours in Senegal; for those who wish to travel in order to practice and discover Senegal with special packages.
