Italian language as a foreign language, all levels
From 58 C$ /h
My name is Alina, and I am from Romania. I discovered my passion for Italian back in high school, when I became so fascinated by the language and culture that I took part in the national Italian Language Olympiad and ranked among the top three students in Romania for two consecutive years.
I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Italian and English, followed by a Master’s degree and a PhD. During my studies, I also had the opportunity to live and study in Italy for two years, gaining not only a deeper understanding of the language, but also firsthand experience of Italian culture and everyday communication.
I have been teaching Italian as a foreign language for over 15 years, working with both children and adults, at all levels, in individual lessons as well as group courses, including professional training programs for companies.
What I consider my greatest asset as a teacher is that, unlike a native speaker who has acquired Italian naturally, I know what it means to learn the language as a foreigner. I understand the difficulties students face, the mistakes they are likely to make, and the connections that can make Italian easier to understand. My background in both Italian and English allows me to draw useful comparisons between the two languages, while my academic training helps me structure and explain grammar in a clear, logical and memorable way.
Moreover, I believe that learning a language should be engaging, practical and adapted to the individual student. I use modern, interactive materials and tailor my lessons to each learner’s goals, level and pace. Whether you are starting Italian from scratch, preparing for an exam, looking to improve your conversation skills, or simply want to feel more confident using the language, I am here to help you make real progress.
Lessons are available online or face-to-face, and I work with both children and adults. Above all, I value commitment, consistency and mutual respect — I offer maximum seriousness and expect the same from my students.

About Me
I am a calm, friendly and approachable person, and I believe that a positive, relaxed atmosphere is essential for effective learning. I always try to bring a smile and a little bit of warmth to my lessons, while creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace.
I continuously update and improve my teaching materials and methods in order to keep my lessons modern, engaging and relevant. Most importantly, I adapt to each student’s individual needs, learning style, goals and pace. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to language learning, so I tailor my lessons to make sure every student feels supported, motivated and able to see their own progress.
