About Me
I am a professional musician, writer, producer and educator with over 25 years' experience in and around the creative corners of performance and culture. Trained in jazz, nurtured in punk, industrial rock and alternative cabaret, at various times I have recorded with, produced and toured with a variety of jazz, blues, rock and goth bands and cabaret projects and made numerous releases as a solo artist.
A fully qualified and experienced teacher, I have taught and lead departments at school college and university level, along with extra curricular and community projects. I am a moderator, contributor and reviewer on Tom Robinson's blog Fresh On The Net, curating submissions from independent musicians across the UK and helping them to reach the next level in their music careers.
As well as music, I also teach English (literary, language & EAL/ESOL).

Quotes and testimonials:
"An extraordinary musician"
Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
"Kerry really does exceed all expectations... He will always go above and beyond for the students and he is one of the most hard working, polite, positive and simply, nicest people that I have ever worked with".
Mark Foster, former director of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust Rockschools
“Kerry worked with the National Theatre of Scotland's Adam World Choir to produce a wonderful album of original music by trans and non-binary people from around the world. Kerry was a brilliant support to the whole group, making each artist feel comfortable sharing their work and helping them musically, as well as sharing their own tracks on the work. Kerry always made deadlines and was such a positive force behind the project. Kerry was also part of a digital symposium we held, talking about the album and it's creative influences. Kerry's commitment to this project and enthusiasm has been wonderful and resulted in a fantastic collaborative process”.
Leonie Gasson, Adam World Choir, National Theatre of Scotland

I am the singing teacher that lets you make the noise you want, then trains you in how to make it awesome.
I will teach you the physical and technical basis of singing powerfully and efficiently and help you diagnose and fix whatever problems might be holding you back, but then it is all about expression. We will figure out together the kind of voice you want to develop, the message you want to express and then go deep in song studies (existing repertoire and your own original work where relevant). Together we will set goals and practical tasks to develop you as both a singer and as an artist, incorporating songwriting skills, home recording, live work and mic skills, music theory and history and even spoken word and acting techniques, as your particular path develops.
I particularly specialise in jazz, rock (up to and including extreme metal screaming/growling) and cross/transgender vocal studies (I identify as gender non-binary myself and have performed in male, female and androgynous guises).
