About Me
Hi everyone,
My name is Ann-Marie and I have been teaching in various subjects for over 15 years. I have experience teaching children from 4 years old to 16 years old. I also have experience teaching adults in various subjects.
With the younger children at KS1 I have experience of delivering Maths and English. Particularly from 4 years old I have looked at phonics, learning how to read and writing skills. For KS2 students, I have experience of delivering Maths and English. Adult learning, covers a wide variety of subjects. A few to name that I have taught include Information Technology, Functional Skills in Maths and English and a variety of short courses to help with employability skills and supporting adults into the workforce.
I obtained my teaching qualification in 2007 from the Institute of Education, now known as The UCL Institute of education. Being a very prestigious Institution, I believe the Institute of Education has made me well equipped to teach to a very high standard in any given educational setting.
I have a wealth of experience delivering lessons in schools, colleges and training providers. I am absolutely passionate about teaching! I just love seeing my students progress, and gain new knowledge and skills.
I also have experience preparing students for exams and I have an excellent pass rate when students choose to learn with me. I have supported students with the 11+ exams and one of my success stories was seeing through a student being given a place at The Latymer School, Edmonton, London. I have also been through the process of sitting an Entrance exam to get into a selective grammar school. I therefore can certainly emphasise with students regarding the pressure they must feel throughout the process. I also deliver exam skills and dedicate some time in all my sessions to applying one's knowledge to exam style questions.
I look forward to teaching you and I will make the sessions as fun, interactive and engaging as possible! I will set homework for you to check and review your learning and I will also help you focus on the areas/topics that you feel need to be addressed as a priority.
I set clear targets in each session, known as learning outcomes and I will guide you through at a pace convenient to you to help and support you achieve all the outcomes by the end of the session.
Learning is fun! That's my motto and I want to help you enjoy learning and succeed in whichever subject you choose to book with me.
I look forward to teaching you.
