Learning Games Development With Unity From An Experienced Developer
From 52 C$ /h
I'm a programmer with over 15 years of experience making games & developer.
This is a game I've built from scratch and self-published. During my career, I've tackled almost all aspects of game development, so the session can be tailored to whatever level you require.
If you're just curious about a career in games and want to talk to someone about what is involved, what the risks might be, if a university course looks good, etc we can talk it through in a 30-minute session.
Otherwise, if you want to have a go at building a simple game from scratch, we can do that in a 60-minute session. It can be any type of game, but keep in mind that with only an hour we will only be able to build a very basic version, so it's best to have a simple idea in mind to get the most out of our time.
I can also act as a consultant on your own game and help build a game over a longer period of time. For this I would recommend booking a weekly 1 hour session to see your progress and help guide you through each step as the game evolves.
About Me:
I've been developing games during my career which started as a software developer creating apps, websites, servers, databases, VR/AR projects and games. Lately I've been specialising in performance and optimisation.
During my career I was always working on Aiyana as a passion project until after a couple of years I decided to start investing my spare budget from contract work into paying artists and audio engineers to help turn Aiyana into a more serious game. Once it reached a good quality bar I applied for, and received, a grant from the UK Games Fund which allowed me to quit my job for a while and focus purely on the game.
During this time I tried to raise investment and was in talks with companies such as Lego and Ubisoft but in the end I wasn't successful and decided to publish Aiyana myself. The release went well with (currently) 94% positive reviews however self publishing means its harder to raise awareness of any project so its not making me enough money to pay a salary which is why I'm trying Apprentus.
