History of Art: from antiquity to the present
From 31 C$ /h
Teaching through lectures and discussions accompanied by representative images from different periods of art history. We will discuss the composition of images, the main characteristics of different movements and styles, the meaning behind their iconography, and the historical context in which they emerged. We will discuss the history of Western art from antiquity to the present day. We won't limit ourselves to Europe! We will also discuss pre-Columbian and American art. My class is aimed at anyone interested in learning about art history, whether for personal enrichment or as a supplement to a school course.

About Me
I'm a recent visual arts graduate from one of Colombia's most prestigious universities. I graduated with honors, specializing in graphic arts, art history, and photography. I'm passionate about the history of images, as understanding the trajectory of the visual world is crucial to my work as a graphic artist. For me, historical images represent countless references, but they also offer a key to conveying messages through codes we've used for centuries. Art history is a tool for understanding the thinking of a particular era because, ultimately, people paint what they think and what they know. So, what better way to understand the world that came before us than through its own images? I love feeling like an explorer uncovering the mysteries of the past every time I analyze an image to understand its symbolism and the artist's choices. Will you join me on this journey?
