As an experienced teacher and a professional writer, I can help you with all aspects of English, whether that's literature, essay writing and analysis for school, or improving on your English as a second language, or for the aspiring writer seeking professional critique and advice for their writing with the view to publish. I can be on hand to help with a child's English homework as well. Classes are tailored to your individual needs, so every class is different.
I am certified with CELTA, PGCE with a degree in Art History. I have taught at international primary schools as well as been a private tutor to children and adults of all ages. As a writer, I am published through National Geographic, though I primarily focus on fiction.

About Me
- Learning should be fun. I'm a believer of play-based learning for children (and also adults!) because when you're having fun, you're automatically learning. When the content of what you learn becomes relevant to you on a personal level, that's when magic happens.
- I'm personable and enjoy getting to know my students. Building good rapport is so important because when any corrections come up, the student knows I'm coming from a good place, a place of trust. That's half the battle to getting the student to listen.
- I believe in encouragement. While corrections are part and parcel to teaching, sometimes highlighting the good areas, the student's strengths, what they did well, is as much part of the learning as pointing out the mistakes. It's a matter of what you focus on: Glass half full or glass half empty? Both are true. But perspective is everything.
- As someone who's bilingual and raising bilingual kids, I am in a unique position to understand the needs of the multilingual and multicultural person. I'm native in English and Cantonese and able to use both languages for lessons. I am conversational in Czech and have rudimentary Mandarin, so I'm familiar with what it's like to learn a foreign language on a personal level.
