Hello! My name is Christian and I am a qualified solicitor back in my home country of New Zealand.I've recently moved to London and before I embark on my next professional adventure, I thought it might be a nice time to give back some of the knowledge I've collected over my studies and professional experience. I took great satisfaction when I helped my younger brother during his legal studies (and even more so when I admitted him to become a lawyer).

I spent many years trying to grasp what the law is, how to write a 'legal opinion', how to write 'like a lawyer' - even how to 'think like a lawyer'. Surprisingly, all thise things are actually quite helpful even if you don't want to become a lawyer. Understanding the law can help you know your rights better, it can help you solve problems more logically, it can help you write more concisely and more persuasively. Anywhere you go or whatever you want to do, somewhere along the line the law will be involved - if ever so slightly. And the best part is, there is always more to learn! Even the finest judges, or the most distinguished King's Counsel don't know everything about the law (although they;d be pretty bloody close).

So let me know whether you're studying law and want some help with your studies, whether you want to improve your writing or negotiating skills, whether you want to learn abit more about the law that affects you, or whether you want to know what its' like working as a lawyer. Hello! I’m a law tutor who specialises in Edexcel International A-Level Law — and my goal is to help you truly understand the subject, not just pass the exam. To do that, I bring more than a textbook: I’m also a practicing lawyer with experience in courts, consulting, and private client work. During my studies, I have also taken part in international law competitions, academic conferences, and published legal articles. This intermediate-level class is designed for students and professionals who already have basic writing skills but want to become clearer, more persuasive, and more confident writers.

We can work with reports, essays, professional memos, research papers, proposals, applications, presentations, executive summaries, or other writing you encounter in school or at work. You are encouraged to bring a real project to class so that we can apply the lessons directly to something that matters to you.

My approach is practical and collaborative. Rather than simply correcting a finished document, I want to help you understand why certain approaches work and develop a writing process you can use independently.

I have taught writing, research, and public policy at the university level and have worked professionally as an author, researcher, policy analyst, and communicator. Much of my career has involved translating complex research and ideas into writing that decision-makers and general audiences can actually use.

Les séances peuvent porter sur la structuration d’un texte, la formulation d’une problématique, l’organisation des idées, la clarté de l’argumentation, la syntaxe, le vocabulaire, la reformulation ou encore la correction des erreurs récurrentes.
Pour les étudiants en lettres et en sciences humaines, je peux également accompagner le travail méthodologique lié à la dissertation, au commentaire, à l’analyse de texte, à la construction d’une problématique et à l’élaboration d’un plan.
Le travail se fait à partir de vos propres textes, de vos difficultés et de vos objectifs.
