I love to share my passion and knowledge of academia. I help students assess their past coursework to thoroughly understand where and how to improve, and support them with their essays, presentations, dissertations, exam preparation, etcetera.
For instance, I can offer my students helpful guidance during the research phase, as well as accurate insight into how to effectively structure arguments and successfully expose them in a convincing and original way.

About Me
Hello!
My name is Francesca. I have recently graduated with a master's degree from the University of Oxford, where I studied Comparative Literature and Critical Translation. For my bachelor's degree, I studied at the University of Warwick where I received a first-class BA in English and Italian literature.

LANGUAGE TEACHING:
Being an Italian born in Switzerland (a multicultural and multilingual country), having studied in England and in Italy, and now living in Portugal, different languages and cultures have always been an essential part of my daily life. Moreover, having studied multiple languages myself, I am particularly aware of the difficulties inherent in learning a foreign language.
When teaching Italian, I shape my classes according to the students’ individual needs.
I believe in enriching vocabulary and grammar lessons with little written tasks and oral conversations about Italian culture and current topics. This allows to put the theory into practice and contextualisation, and to render the classes more engaging and interesting. I also use translation as a powerful tool to delve into further aspects of the studied language.
Learning a foreign language takes time and patience. But this doesn't mean it can't be fun: I aspire to make my classes interactive and engaging, and by tailoring them to the specific needs of my students I help them achieve their potential without wasting time!
*********
UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS / PREPARATION:
Being willing to study in the UK led me to scrutinise the admission process and gain a wide knowledge of what different universities value most in candidates.
I help prospective university students with their personal statements, CVs, essays, exams and interview preparation, and the whole application process.
*********
OXFORD / CAMBRIDGE ADMISSIONS / PREPARATION:
Having applied to, successfully obtained an offer from, and studied at Oxford, I also have expertise in this procedure and I can help my students with useful tips and suggestions to improve their applications and let their personality and passion shine through.
I help prospective university students with their personal statements, CVs, essays, exams, interview preparation, and the whole application process, specifically targeting them for Oxbridge.
*********
LITERATURE:
As I hold a Bachelor's degree in Modern Literature and a Mater's in Comparative Literature, literature is one of my biggest passion.
I help students undertaking a literature course at GCSE (middle school), A level or IB (high school), or university.
*********
COURSEWORK:
Finally, I love to share my passion and knowledge of academia.
Don't hesitate to contact me for further information! :)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
During my studies, I always tried to combine my passion for teaching and education with my deep interest for human rights and social issues.
This led me, in 2016, to become part of Guides (UK) as an assistant, where I organised and coordinated recreational and educational activities for a group of twenty girls aged between 10 and 15.
In the same year I became part of a group of ten volunteers conducting an interdisciplinary project of educational and recreational activities, art and craft sessions and games for the children of the school in Jinja (Uganda).
In 2019, I was team leader in a project by the Are You Syrious, association in Croatia charged with organising an overseas trip bringing 15 young students to Croatia to provide lessons and activities to local young refugees and asylum seekers.
Currently, I am giving private language classes to students online.
