English Literature, Creative Writing, Academic Writing
From 19.15 C$ /h
My aim is to enrich your experience with literature and creative writing through engaging activities and discussions.
My standard lesson plan would involve discussing passages of prose or poetry within a certain theme, and then a creative writing activity based on the theme with a feedback session. However, as I want the lessons to be as useful and interesting for you as possible, you will get input on the materials and activities in the lesson, and you will decide how much homework you are given, if any.
Here are some ideas of what else you could ask for:
- Guidance on essay writing
- Homework help up to A-level
- Analysis of film adaptations of books
- Other creative activities in a literature lesson, such as word games
You might even decide that you want a complete focus on literature or on creative writing only, which is fine! At the end of the day, it is your learning experience that matters the most.

About Me
I am university student studying English Literature and Creative Writing. I have just completed my second year and I absolutely love my course! I will read almost anything if it sparks my interest, although as a writer I gravitate towards dystopian and contemporary short stories.
English is my first and dominant language, however I also speak Mandarin Chinese and Malay as fairly proficient second languages. Beyond my academics, I am an avid dancer - I danced ballet in my childhood and throughout my teenage years, and currently I have been dancing Argentine tango for almost two (very happy) years.

Experience / Qualifications
In the academic year of 2019/20, I was a volunteer student tutor with Transformations, which is a widening participation programme run by my university's English department. I worked in a team with two other student tutors to prepare and deliver weekly seminar-style lessons in a secondary school in Coventry. The lessons were related to English literature and creative writing and focused on the theme of Gothic fiction.
