As a high school English teacher and private tutor for college coaching, I have 7 years of experience helping students understand the best strategies to access the universities that are right for them.

This course will discuss the required "Common App" essay that most schools in the United States ask for in their application process. We will read and analyze the strategies of successful college essays together, while discussing ideas and directions for the students to take personally. I will educate them on the writing methods, while offering revision suggestions along the way.

I have been teaching English in New Jersey for 7 years, with experience in grades 9-12. I teach college preparatory classes, along with AP Language & Composition. Privately, I tutor students to navigate the "college essay" question on the Common App website, or we can use a specific school's prompts to tailor their responses to fit the task! We will look at different essay writing strategies in order to find what works for you, then discuss your experiences, interests, and unique qualities that are sometimes difficult to find in ourselves right away.
