I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA, and relocated from London to Barcelona in 2023. Mathematics has always been a huge passion of mine and I have found it helps in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These skills are crucial in building confidence and nurturing creativity in students (I even use math to create music!). I enjoy teaching various math topics, such as algebra, geometry, ratio and proportion, probability, and trigonometry, among others. I'm also equipped to assist students in preparing for 11+, 13+, GCSE, IB and SAT exams. In addition to being a math tutor, I also have a certificate in TEFL. This has enabled me to design my lessons in a way that is more engaging and effective for students of all ages. Having lived in five different countries, including the UK, Belgium, USA, India, and Spain, I bring a diverse perspective to my teaching. My name is Daniil. I am a pianist and composer from Ukraine. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in composition, piano, and pedagogy at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 2018 and my Master's in Music composition from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in 2020. The main power of music is in its ability to open up worlds of communication that are inaccessible otherwise. Therefore, in our lessons, we will use technical exercises, solfège, and music theory (if/when needed) to achieve the level of performance that will allow for the ultimate goal – having fun playing for or with your friends and family. Apart from working on your favorite pieces and classical repertoire, we will work on your skills of sight-reading and improvisation. We will also play pieces together, either on a piano in four hands or with me on the violin. I have almost ten years of experience teaching piano, composition, solfège, harmony and counterpoint, and music theory. Among my students were kids aiming for (and succeeding at) admission into higher music education institutions, conservatory students who needed help with their music theory and piano classes, and kids and adults who studied music in their spare time. No matter what your goal (or lack thereof) is for studying music, we will find an appropriate pace, structure, and repertoire.
