About Me
Simon has won multiple national and international competitions and regularly performs throughout Europe and in the USA. He won the Grand Prix and Audience Award at the international “Young Paganini” competition. He has also won other prizes at the international violin competitions “Andrea Postacchini”, “Music Islands” and “New York Artists Association”, among others.
Highlights of his recent seasons include his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, performances in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz, the Gasteig in Munich, the Berlin Philharmonie and the National Concert Hall in Dublin. In 2021, his debut CD "Impressions" with pianist Alexandra Troussova was released on the Genuin label.
Simon is regularly invited to internationally renowned music festivals and plays with artists such as Enrico Pace, Benedict Klöckner, Razvan Popovichi, Kristóf Baráti, Kirill Troussov, István Várdai, Alexandra Troussova, Christoph Poppen, Marcelo Amaral and the Apollon Musagète Quartet.
Simon performs as a soloist with orchestras such as the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, the State Symphony Orchestra St. Petersburg, the Filharmonia Sudecka, the Geringas Chamber Orchestra, the Augsburg Chamber Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Philharmonic Dacapo. He works with conductors such as Eckart Manke, Georgios Balatsinos, Paweł Przytocki, Bernd-Georg Mettke, David Geringas, Zakhar Bron, Franz Schottky and Peter Bauer.
The violinist, born in Augsburg in 2000, received his first lessons from Margret Niklas and Jorge Sutil. Since 2012, Simon has been studying with Kirill Troussov and was a junior student with Zakhar Bron for four years. He completed his studies with Christoph Poppen at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts and is now continuing his master's degree with Lena Neudauer.
Simon also receives important musical impulses and inspiration from Veronika Eberle and Erik Schumann. Mentors for his chamber music activities are the Quatuor Ébène, Dirk Mommertz from the Fauré Quartet and Silke Avenhaus.
Since 2017, Simon has been playing a violin by Nicola Gagliano (Naples, 1765). It is a private loan.
