About Me

I am a Canadian trained teacher who moved to England to begin my exciting overseas teaching experience! I teach science in secondary schools and have experiences with a variety of learning needs. Science has always been fascinating to me during school, particularly biology, chemistry and psychology. I have completed 2 degrees from University of Alberta- B.Sc in Psychology Major, Biological Sciences minor, and a B.Ed in Education after Degree.

I aim to make sure students understand material intuitively first before delving into complicated questions and foster a friendly and patient learning environment. Instead of relying on memorising formulas, I teach students how to derive the formulas themselves, build upon their previous knowledge and use them to solve complex questions in a simple way, building their confidence in the process. To facilitate this, I use metaphors and every-day things to construct stories that help students remember concepts and relationships between them.

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, preferences and learning style so I am able to accommodate specific requests.
