About Me

Hello! I'm a native speaker of both Japanese and Chinese, and I'm passionate about teaching these languages to students of all levels. As a study-abroad student from Japan, I understand the challenges and joys of learning a new language, and I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment for my students. My teaching style is interactive and practical, focusing on real-life situations to help you communicate effectively.

I enjoy working with motivated students who are eager to learn, whether you're starting from scratch or looking to refine your skills for business or academic purposes. I believe that building a strong relationship with my students is key to effective learning, and I aim to make our sessions both informative and enjoyable.

Education

I was a student at the University of Tokyo, the best university in Japan, where I achieved a GPA of 3.9. I am currently studying Politics in Manchester, which is enhancing my understanding of language acquisition and effective teaching methods. This strong academic background equips me to offer a well-rounded learning experience tailored to my students' needs.

While I don’t have formal experience teaching Japanese and Chinese, I have taught English to several Japanese students. Personalised session content is provided based on the interests and level of the student.
E.g.
For language learner – general Chinses learning session, spoken Chinese session (e.g. informal and formal spoken Chinese words, phrases, formats), specialized pronunciation training session, written Chinses session (character, vocabulary, grammar, style, format, etc.).
For culture discover – ancient Chinese history (general learning, detailed understanding), modern Chinese society insight, discussion of social phenomena in depth.

I been playing guzheng for 14 years,also with 3 years experience in teaching different ages and skills levels from beginner to advanced.Particularly adept at teaching children and younger students.
I can do private lesson 1 to 1or 1to 2 in Manchester/Preston.

I shall reached traditional Chinese music as well as modern music, western music. I play western musical instrument also, so I can explain in different ways that students would easier to understand.

My lessons are based on daily conversation and there is no textbook, so each lesson we can talk about whatever you feel like at the time! I can help you learn new words, phrases and guide you on how to talk with a natural pronunciation.

I have experience teaching English conversation to Japanese students in Japan for roughly 5 years and the majority were new to the language so if you are not too confident in speaking Japanese yet, there is no need to worry! People would describe me as a kind, empathetic and patient person so don't be afraid to ask me questions or make lots of mistakes, as that is all part of the learning process^^
