Beginner to Advanced Lessons for Guitar Players for all agesTranslate this text using Google Translate.

After dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning. I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc. For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!) Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other! One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it. I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and a distinction in Fashion Communication which included my music playing at Central Saint Martins. I also have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before. The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

Mastering the academic foundations of realism in drawing and painting. Courses and coaching with Tom Ho, professional artist.Translate this text using Google Translate.

As a professional painter and visual artist (academic studies in Florence, at the Van der Kelen Institute in Belgium, and at ENSAAMA in Paris), affiliated with the Maison des Artistes, I dedicate part of my time to teaching traditional academic techniques and providing individual artistic guidance. These demanding foundations form the essential basis for all artistic expression: realistic, abstract, or digital. TARGET AUDIENCE -Beginners, Amateurs A step-by-step learning process to overcome apprehension and acquire a solid foundation for personal expression. Basic materials are provided to experiment and get started with confidence. -Art school students A complementary support to your course to fill the gaps in contemporary teaching and acquire the academic fundamentals that will give full visual force to your concepts and to enrich your diploma projects or your portfolio. -Digital Artists Come and unlock your technical levels in digital art through a rigorous relearning of traditional fundamentals: light, values, perspective and proportions. -Professional artists Consolidate and perfect your drawing and painting skills and applied guidance/masterclass to the realization of your artistic projects. CUSTOMIZED TEACHING METHODOLOGY (1-TO-1 COURSES) The teaching is strictly individual to guarantee progress at your own pace. My progressive, observation-based teaching method is a synthesis of my artistic, personal and professional experiences and the different teaching methods I have encountered, notably the Bargue academic method of the Paris school practiced from 1880 to 1950. Drawing and painting is about learning to look at reality, analyzing it and transcribing it from 3D to 2D. THE FUNDAMENTALS TAUGHT Form (overall vision, simplification through geometrization, measurement) Value (light analysis, volume rendering) Colour (perception, analysis and mixing) TECHNICAL LEARNING -Drawing and painting tools: lead pencil, charcoal, oil paint (colors, binders, mediums), acrylic paint. -The method: from sketch to finish, mastery of the limited palette, grisaille, and alla prima technique. -The subjects: still life, plaster model, live model, outdoor, and copies of masters. YOUR PROJECTS & PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT Depending on your level and needs, once the academic foundation has been validated or for already established artists, I offer three levels of intervention: 1. Regular Courses: Transmission of knowledge through theoretical and practical instruction. You practice and develop your eye in conjunction with your hand under my supervision. 2. Technical Coaching (Art Direction and Expert Advice): I act as an external consultant on your works in progress. Analysis of composition, color theory, choice of materials, assistance with research and validation of your processes. 3. The Project Masterclass: Technical demonstration and direct educational intervention on your artwork. I paint with you to help you overcome a complex technical hurdle (details, textures) and provide concrete assistance in completing your work. MY EXPERIENCE AT THE SERVICE OF YOUR PROGRESSION My teaching is grounded in solid practical experience. My past work in set design (film, theater, trompe-l'œil), in stained glass creation (Carmel of Paris, in partnership with Jean le Bideau, master glassmaker, and Tom Ho), and my experience as a graphic designer and artist's assistant have profoundly shaped my eye, my sensitivity to light, and my exacting standards regarding materials. It is this perspective of a craftsman and professional artist that I now offer you. THE LOCATIONS: ARTIST'S STUDIO in Montreuil / POCKET STUDIO in Paris 15th Lessons are given in my private 20m² studio, a 14-minute walk or 11-minute bus ride (Bus 122) from the Gallieni metro station - Line 3. It's a quiet workspace with a north-facing aspect, offering the constant and ideal natural light sought by painters. Alternatively, lessons are available in my smaller studio in the 15th arrondissement of Paris (2 minutes from the Cambronne metro station - Line 8). Contact me to discuss your goals.

Jake is helping me improving my fluency before moving to the U.S., and after a few lessons I feel more comfortable in speaking. You can talk about everyday stuff as well as big issues with him in a relaxed atmosphere. He listens to you and cares about your needs. He is an easy-going person and he also well-prepared, he combines kindness and professionality. Also, his British accent really helps you improving your listening skills. Last but not least, he is very punctual (I'm Italian...), and the fact that he comes to you really helps if you're busy. I definitely recommend him!

Amazing teacher with a vast knowledge of music theory and guitar styles. Lessons are efficiently organized and topics are presented clearly. Would strongly recommend these lessons to guitar players with any level of proficiency, especially newcomers.

Excellent instruction in English. This lesson was exactly what I was looking for! Excellent instruction about how to break down my drawing into geometric shapes.
