About Me

Hello! My name is Xiaowen, originally from Guangdong, the southeast part of China. I’m passionate about teaching the Chinese language and sharing the richness of its culture with learners from around the world. With a background in linguistics and speech sciences, I bring a deep understanding of how people acquire and use language. All this knowledge that helps me design lessons that are both scientific and engaging.

During my studies in English Language and Literature and later in Clinical Linguistics across Europe, I began tutoring international classmates who wanted to learn Mandarin for travel, study, and research. This led me to develop my own structured approach to teaching Chinese pronunciation, tones, and grammar through real-life communication practice.

Over the past few years, I’ve taught students from more than 10 countries, both online and in person, from absolute beginners to advanced learners preparing for HSK exams or professional communication. My classes focus on clarity, confidence, and cultural immersion, blending modern teaching tools with insights from my research in speech production and voice analysis.

3. Specialized in Mandarin phonetics, tone correction, and accent reduction based on my linguistic training

4. Experience preparing learners for HSK exams (Levels 1–6)

5. Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hakka, with full professional proficiency in English

6. Research expertise in speech production, voice analysis, and language processing, enhancing my ability to teach clear and natural spoken Chinese
