Introduction to digital drawing (Krita, and pad provided) – student in studio and Fine Arts
From 58 C$ /h
After studying art for fifteen years in a Parisian workshop and starting a preparatory course in Art at the Beaux-Arts de Lyon, I offer an introduction to digital drawing techniques.
During my studio training, I experimented with numerous techniques (life drawing, still life, painting, cyanotype, engraving, pastel, charcoal, sculpture) which I now use in my digital drawings. I have been drawing on Krita for a year now, creating posters, original drawings, and animations.
Today, I offer to guide people interested in digital drawing techniques for a few hours. During this introductory session, I can adapt to each individual's preferences, whether they focus on line work, color, or composition.
My goal is to foster an interest in art and digital drawing in each and every one of my students, ensuring both enjoyable lessons and rapid progress. I look forward to seeing everyone's creations and am curious about your artistic ambitions.
My teachings
The aim of this introduction to digital drawing is to allow students to gain an initial appreciation of the techniques and potential of digital drawing. First, we will cover the basic parameters of the Krita software and install the necessary software to ensure access to its various features before exploring the artistic possibilities of this format. Throughout this introduction, my goal is also to ensure the student enjoys the process and, more generally, to encourage them to pursue their artistic interests and curiosities.
We will use various digital drawing techniques: layers, masks, brushes, colors and the color triangle, animation (for beginners), coloring, and selection and transformation tools. If desired, I can also offer tests to check that the student has understood each step; however, in all cases, developing autonomy is central to this introduction, and this is achieved without the need for tests.
Upon completion of this introductory course, students will be able to use Krita's basic tools independently, creating digital drawings and, if they wish, their first animations. They will be proficient in using the various tools covered. Results will be quickly visible, and each student will soon be able to implement their own projects, which I will be delighted to support.
I offer this introductory course on Krita, which remains particularly accessible as it is free. Therefore, the financial commitment for this course does not include the purchase of software. Should the student wish to purchase software to further develop and professionalize their skills, I can recommend software based on their specialization (video editing, animation, digital painting, etc.).
Digital drawing generally requires the purchase of a pad or tablet. For in-person classes, I provide the pad to minimize the financial commitment for what is, after all, an introductory course. This also gives students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with these tools, get comfortable with them, and make informed choices about their equipment. For online classes, however, students will need to purchase their own pad; I can then provide relevant recommendations. It is also possible to draw digitally without a pad using Krita, and although more challenging, it remains an interesting option for those who are not yet sure about continuing their digital drawing training.
Course format
Group classes for multiple students are also possible if each student has a tablet. In this case, I offer discounted rates per household to make this option attractive to everyone.
If the student makes progress on their own outside of class, it is perfectly possible for me to take up their work and questions in the following class and therefore progress at their own pace.
I offer both in-person and online classes. I have the necessary equipment to ensure successful online lessons. One of the advantages of digital drawing is that it is easy to teach remotely.
For home lessons, an additional charge may apply when travel is particularly significant or when schedules are restrictive.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions or if you require further clarification regarding the proposed format or the support provided.

A year in Nagoya, Japan, daily practice of Japanese, educational resources and a passion for Japanese language and culture.
I offer Japanese courses from beginner level up to B1 level, in Lyon or remotely, for students and adults wishing to learn the language, prepare for a trip, deepen their knowledge of Japan or simply learn Japanese out of passion.
I studied Japanese as part of my studies at the ENS in Lyon and had the opportunity to spend a year in Nagoya, Japan, as part of my Master 2. While there, I took 1.5 hours of Japanese lessons per day, while also practicing the language daily with Japanese people.
I still regularly practice Japanese in Lyon, particularly in language cafés, and I keep in touch with my Japanese friends. Japanese is therefore a language I continue to use and work on every day.
Learn Japanese in a progressive and personalized way
I offer Japanese lessons from beginner to B1 level, following a short placement test, adapting to each student's goals: language learning, conversation, preparation for a trip or university exchange. I work on both written and spoken Japanese—grammar, vocabulary, kanji, comprehension, and expression—and have access to textbooks, exercises, and course materials, including those from my year of study in Nagoya.
Having lived in Japan for a year, where I took 1.5 hours of Japanese lessons every day and practiced extensively with native speakers, I can also offer a very practical approach to the language and everyday situations. I continue to practice Japanese regularly in Lyon.
I also offer sessions on Japanese culture, history, and society, enriched by my studies at the ENS (École Normale Supérieure), my Master's degree in Japanese history, and my experience living there. Having traveled extensively throughout the country, I can also advise future travelers on regions, seasons, events, festivals, and itineraries, including those off the beaten tourist track.
I can support students from their first steps up to a B1 level, after a short placement test to check the level and determine the student's objectives.
Specifically, I can work on:
• hiragana and katakana;
• kanji;
• grammar;
• vocabulary;
• conjugation;
• written and oral comprehension;
• written and oral expression;
• the conversation;
• pronunciation;
• everyday life situations;
• preparing for a trip or stay in Japan.
I can also adapt the sessions to each person's objectives: general progress in Japanese, preparation for a trip, preparation for a university exchange, conversation, review of the basics or deepening of particular concepts.
I have access to textbooks, teaching resources, exercises, and course materials used during my year in Nagoya, as well as resources I have created myself. Therefore, I can offer structured lessons and provide supplementary work between classes.
Particular attention is paid to oral communication.
My year in Japan allowed me to practice Japanese in many everyday situations, and not just in a school setting.
I have had many conversations with Japanese people and continue to practice the language regularly. Therefore, I can offer conversation exercises and help students gradually move beyond Japanese learned solely from textbooks.
The goal is to understand not only how to construct a sentence, but also how to use language in concrete situations.
Discover Japanese culture in all its nuances
I can also offer sessions dedicated to Japanese culture, history and society, in addition to language learning.
My academic background allows me to approach Japan from both an academic and practical perspective. In particular, I studied Japan as part of my degree at the ENS de Lyon and completed my Master's thesis in History focusing on Japan. I also have access to university courses and resources that I can draw upon depending on the student's interests.
Most importantly, I lived in Japan for a year and had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the country, both in large cities and in regions and places less frequented by tourists.
I can therefore talk about many aspects of Japanese life and culture from my personal experience: daily habits, regional differences, festivals and events, gastronomy, heritage, student life, transport, social practices, etc.
Tips for traveling to Japan
For people who wish to learn Japanese before a trip, I can also integrate a very practical dimension into the lessons.
Having traveled for a year through different regions of Japan, I can offer advice on:
• regions to discover according to your interests;
• the best times to travel depending on the destination;
• Japanese events and festivals;
• regional routes outside of the classic tourist circuits;
• the lesser-known places that I was able to discover there;
• the differences between large cities and more rural areas;
• everyday life situations that it may be useful to prepare for.
I can also build sessions with the student around a specific trip, for example by working on the necessary vocabulary, the situations they will face and some cultural elements specific to the regions they wish to visit.
An approach tailored to each student
As with my other courses, I adapt to the level and objectives of each individual.
A session might include, for example:
• a review of the concepts seen previously;
• learning new grammar or vocabulary points;
• written exercises;
• listening comprehension;
• a conversation in Japanese adapted to the student's level;
• reading and writing exercises;
• a cultural or historical point;
• exercises to be done between sessions.
I aim to offer structured but lively courses, with a significant emphasis on practice and student progress.
For who ?
I can accompany:
• beginners wishing to discover Japanese;
• pupils and students who already have some basic knowledge;
• people wishing to reach a B1 level;
• future travelers to Japan;
• students preparing for a university stay or exchange;
• people wishing to learn Japanese out of interest in the Japanese language and culture.
Before starting regular follow-up, I can offer a short placement test to check the student's level and determine objectives together.
Courses in Lyon or online
I offer in-person classes in Lyon or online and have the necessary equipment to work effectively remotely.
I can also adapt the format of the sessions according to the needs: regular weekly classes, intensive preparation before a trip or an exam, or one-off sessions devoted to a particular theme.
Please feel free to tell me about your current level, your goals and your relationship with Japanese: together we can determine the course format that will suit you best.

After graduating with a scientific baccalaureate, I completed three years of preparatory classes (B/L track) at the Lycée Janson de Sailly in Paris, before gaining admission to the ENS de Lyon through the competitive entrance exam. I was also accepted to HEC and ESSEC on my first attempt at the entrance exams.
I then continued my studies at the ENS de Lyon in social sciences, with a Master 1 in sociology and then a Master 2 in history, partly completed in Japan.
Today I offer tutoring to students in B/L preparatory classes, from the first year to the entrance exams, in the following subjects:
• German, especially German civilization;
• English ;
• Letters;
• History and geography;
• Sociology.
I can also support students in preparing for the entrance exams to the ENS and business schools, in particular to work on methodology, organize revisions, prepare for the exams and identify points to explore further.
A former student of the B/L preparatory class, a graduate of the ENS de Lyon, and admitted to HEC and ESSEC on my first attempt, I offer personalized tutoring to B/L students, from their first year through to the entrance exams. I still have numerous preparatory class resources (lessons, study guides, timelines, past papers, bibliographies, and past exam papers) that I can make available to students to supplement our sessions.
I provide particular support to students in history and geography, literature, sociology, German, and English, working on knowledge, methodology, and the specific requirements of the exams. My training at the ENS, especially in sociology and history, also allows me to delve deeper into the courses and provide academic references.
I can also assist with preparation for the entrance exams to the ENS and business schools, as well as with organizing revisions, working through past papers, preparing for oral exams, and analyzing written assignments. My goal is to impart not only knowledge and resources, but above all, effective study methods and strategies that will enable students to progress and become more independent.
A preparation based on my experience with B/L and competitive exams
Having myself completed three years of B/L, I am familiar with the specific requirements of this course: quantity of work, diversity of disciplines, pace of assignments, oral exams, dissertations, mock exams and the need to gradually build solid knowledge that can be mobilized quickly.
My experience at the ENS de Lyon also allowed me to extend this training in social sciences and to acquire a more in-depth academic work and research method.
I still have access to many of the resources I compiled during my preparatory studies: lectures, revision notes, past exam papers, bibliographies, timelines, and old exam papers. When relevant, I can make these available to my students to provide them with an additional learning resource.
The goal is not simply to pass on my old notes: I seek to help each student build their own working methods, knowledge and reflexes for the competitions.
History geography
History and geography played a significant role in my B/L education. I studied this subject intensively through lectures, readings, essays, notes, timelines, and research projects.
I still have my prep course materials and notes, including numerous timelines and knowledge sheets that I can share with my students. I also have past exam papers that allow us to practice what the exams are really like.
Since the B/L program is relatively stable, a significant portion of the knowledge and resources I have worked on remains directly usable for students preparing for the same exams today.
My Master 2 in History at the ENS of Lyon, dedicated to the history of Japan, also allowed me to considerably deepen my training in this discipline.
I can, in particular, support students with:
• review and structure the course;
• create effective fact sheets;
• memorize the essential timelines and knowledge;
• work on essays and compositions;
• improve introductions, issues and plans;
• analyze copies and understand the expectations of the examiners;
• to explore certain themes in greater depth beyond the course.
Letters
Literature was also an important subject in my B/L training. I obtained very good results in this discipline, with an average of around 17/20 during my preparatory year.
I still have my notes, flashcards, past papers and old copies, which I can use with students to work on both knowledge and methodology.
I can help with, among other things:
• construct an essay;
• find and formulate a problem;
• develop a plan;
• to work on the analysis and interpretation of a text;
• improve the quality of writing;
• enrich the references and examples;
• Prepare for tests and competitions.
The goal is to enable the student to understand what makes a good preparatory essay and to gradually develop their own reflexes.
Sociology
Sociology is currently one of my main areas of specialization.
I studied it during my three years of B/L before continuing in this discipline at the ENS of Lyon, where I obtained a Master 1 in sociology research.
I can therefore support students both on the knowledge of the B/L program, the understanding of authors and concepts, and on the methodology of essays and social science assignments.
My university experience also allows me to help students deepen their references and better understand the debates between authors, rather than simply memorizing fact sheets.
German — especially German civilization
I have been studying German since middle school and have regularly stayed in Germany to improve my language skills. I currently have a C1 level.
I can support B/L students in German, both in terms of language and German civilization, particularly through reviewing the course, acquiring vocabulary, preparing the topics studied, and practicing for exams.
I can also help to create culture sheets and organize knowledge so that it can be effectively used in homework.
English
I obtained the Cambridge C1 Advanced right after finishing preparatory school, and then I spent a year in Japan in an international university environment where I took courses and wrote my assignments in English.
I can support B/L students in their preparation for English exams, particularly with:
• consolidate grammar and vocabulary;
• work on comprehension and expression;
• prepare exercises specific to competitions;
• improve writing skills;
• to enrich cultural and civilizational references.
Preparation for entrance exams to the ENS and business schools
I can also offer more comprehensive support to students who wish to prepare for competitive exams.
I myself entered the ENS of Lyon through a competitive exam and was admitted to HEC and ESSEC on my first attempt.
Therefore, I can help students reflect on their organization and preparation strategy, in particular:
• planning of revisions;
• organization of the different subjects;
• preparation for mock exams;
• working with past exam papers;
• identification of weaknesses;
• methodology of the tests;
• preparation for oral presentations when relevant;
• management of the period preceding the competitions.
I can also share my practical experience of competitive exams and the transition between preparatory classes and higher education.
My way of working
As with my tutoring sessions, I tailor each session to the student's level and objectives.
Depending on the needs, a session may include:
• Resumption of the lesson: clarification of concepts and verification of knowledge;
• Working on exercises, homework or past papers: I guide the student in their reasoning without doing the work for them;
• Methodology: construction of an essay, commentary, composition or response adapted to the requirements of the preparatory course;
• Correction of papers: precise identification of points to improve and implementation of methods to progress;
• Further study: additional readings, references, knowledge or exercises for students wishing to go further;
• Organization of personal work: planning revisions, creating flashcards and effective use of past papers.
I can also provide or share, when useful, courses, notes, timelines, past papers and old copies from my own preparation.
The objective is to transmit not only knowledge, but above all a method enabling the student to gradually become autonomous and effective in the face of the demands of competitions.
Individual or small group lessons
I am also comfortable in group settings. I can support up to three students, especially when they are preparing for the same subject or exam together.
Working in small groups can be particularly useful for methodology sessions, revisions, preparing for mock exams, or analyzing student work.
Sliding scale rates per student are offered for group classes.
I can also provide occasional help with correcting homework or personal projects, at a reasonable rate.
Courses in Lyon or online
I offer face-to-face classes in Lyon or online and have the necessary equipment to ensure remote sessions under good conditions.
For home lessons, an additional charge may apply depending on the distance and time constraints.
Feel free to contact me, specifying your year of preparatory classes, the subjects involved, and your goals for the competitive exams. This will allow us to determine together the most suitable support format.

• Correction of papers: precise identification of points to improve and implementation of methods to progress;
• Further study: additional readings, references, knowledge or exercises for students wishing to go further;
