Let's speak English! I am from the United States and a native English speaker, originally from Portland, Oregon. My Bachelors and Masters degrees are in language and literature and I will continue my education at Stanford University next year. In this cours particuliers, we will focus on building your conversation, grammar, and vocabulary skills to fit your needs (business, travel, school studies, etc.)

I have 4 years of teaching and tutoring experience in second language acquisition. I earned my master's degree in French literature and language in 2017. I have been accepted into Stanford University's doctoral program in the Language, Literature, and Linguistics PhD.

Currently, I teach English at a lycée in Luxembourg. I have previously taught a wide variety of English courses (cours particuliers) and English classes at French lycées. I taught for two years at the University of Florida as a French language instructor. I have also taught English online to students in China!

ABOUT ME & MY CLASSES

I specialize in giving English classes to learners of all ages specifically in business, general, and conversational English as well as Cambridge exam preparation. My primary goal is to engage and challenge my students by knowing their interests and catering the lessons to match them as student interest is essential to the learning process.

My classes with....

young learners (2-8 yrs old) primarily focus on learning through play such as learning question structures by playing the card game Go Fish. In addition to some short exercises to practice what is being learned or reinforced.

pre-teens and teens focus on activities geared towards their interests to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well as some games to break up the lessons. For example, if a student is interested in football and we are practicing reading skills that day, I might bring an article discussing Cristiano Ronaldo and his decision to leave Real Madrid.

adults are catered towards what they are specifically looking for in English class. That could be focused almost solely on communication skills and error correction or following a English course book.

all learners attempting Cambridge exams are focused on understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the student and helping the student improve in those areas through breaking the difficult area down and practice exercises.
