English Academic Tutoring (Tertiary Level), Essay Support, Analytical Tools
From 117 C$ /h
For university students looking for extra support with their academic English, I also offer comprehensive tutoring programs, and editorial support. In my own academic experience, my written English was improved immensely by the support that I received from editors and advisors during the production of my thesis, but it is also my experience that these invaluable learning supports are automatically offered in coursework studies. Working together with students, I help them to analyse and implement editorial best practice in long-form academic papers, and thesis projects.
Please note: I am not an expert in the stylistic preferences which may vary between departments and disciplines, however I do my best to take these preferences into consideration when offering support at the tertiary level.

About Me
I am a native English speaker and experienced tutor with an academic background in English Literature and the arts. As an English-Australian dual citizen who has worked professionally in American English, I am confident teaching to any of these standards. I have a number of academic publications, experience working as an editor, as well as in communications. Within academic editing roles, my specialisation falls in arts and social sciences, but I am open to students from all disciplines who are interested in improving their academic English.
I have been working part time as a private tutor since 2015, and my students have ranged from primary grade through to tertiary. I am confident offering support across the full spectrum of English education, from EAL to academic writing support, to creative writing, to corporate coaching.
I believe in a student-led lesson plan, which means that I custom my sessions to your personal goals and needs. Student confidence is also integral to my teaching strategies, and I love to work together with students to ensure that lessons are fun, engaging and informative. If this feels like the right fit for you, please feel free to send me a message!

For my primary students, I prefer to start by building confidence and helping them to master the basics. Learning at this level should be fun and engaging, and help students to feel excited and capable in facing new challenges. For my more gifted learners at this level, we might start to look at a more advanced reading list and begin to work on composing different types of texts.
I am happy to support students in Swedish/native languages if needed, but English should be the primary language of the class.
