My approach to teaching is to first assess my students current interests and abilities and then design a personalized curriculum for them which will combine both music theory and notation reading with play by ear skills. The main focus is help students reach their goals while also developing into a well rounded musician. I'm comfortable with students of any age and with any special needs!

At my studio I have an array of percussion including (drum sets, djembes, congas, bongos, Middle Eastern percussion, hand pan, Brazilian percussion, mallet percussion etc.) and should you decide to study online I have professional audio equipment to make your lessons as close to in person quality as possible!

Experience / Qualifications

I was a principal performer in the cast of the NYC Broadway show STOMP. As a freelance drummer I've also toured with various recording artists and production outfits such as; Miki Howard, Street Drum Corps, and Royal Caribbean Productions. In the marching percussion world, I received a bronze medal at the 2012 WGI Championships while marching with Orange County Independent. As an educator I've taught both drum set and hand percussion to children and adults at the School of Rock franchise and at my private studio.

If you are looking for lessons in percussion (tuned or non-tuned), or the drum kit then I hope I can help you!

I have been fortunate enough to perform with many orchestras across the UK, and as a solo artist. This has included performing in a masterclass at the Cambridge International Jazz Festival with Dame Evelyn Glennie, winning the Canterbury Festival Young Musician competition, being a solo artist at Deal Music and Arts Festival, and performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra. I have been a percussionist since the age of 9 and studied orchestral percussion at Trinity Laban Conservatoire from 2015-2019.

This year, I was a graduate professor at New York University, where I created and taught a curriculum for Music Composition, Beginner Film Scoring. The curriculum covered the basics of music theory, composition, orchestration, instrumentation, and composing to picture. The course covered all types of media, such as animation, video game, advertisements, and film. Students also learnt how to utilize DAWs for creating music.

I obtained my Master of Music in Film Scoring and music theory from New York University, where I was chosen by Alan Menken to be a recipient of the Alan Menken Scholarship. I achieved my Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Oxford, where I was awarded a scholarship in performance from the Royal Academy of Music.
