I hold a Doctorate in Music from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where I specialized in percussion under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed performers and pedagogues. My musical training began with classical piano studies at the age of five and continued with rigorous instruction through my adolescence. I studied with teachers trained in the Chinese Central Conservatory tradition, whose pedagogical lineage includes disciples of renowned pianists such as Fou Ts'ong and Yin Chengzong. My piano repertoire covered major works from the Classical and Romantic periods, and I was a regular participant in national youth competitions and conservatory masterclasses in China. In percussion, I studied under Aiyun Huang and Fabrice Marandola—both leading figures in contemporary percussion—and took part in masterclasses with Steven Schick and Dame Evelyn Glennie.

As a performer, I have collaborated with ensembles including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and leading contemporary music groups, bringing a versatile and international perspective to my musical work. I have taught both piano and percussion to students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced and professional musicians. I teach all styles of music—classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary—and tailor each lesson to fit the student’s individual goals, interests, and learning pace. Whether working with amateur students exploring music for the first time or preparing advanced students for auditions and performances, my teaching is grounded in respect, encouragement, and a commitment to developing each student's unique artistic voice.

I grew up in a musical household where discipline and creativity lived side by side. My earliest memories include the sound of my grandfather playing traditional Chinese instruments and my own hours at the piano, where music became not only a habit but a way of thinking. Much of my foundational training happened at home, and as a result, teaching has always felt like a natural extension of who I am. Over the years, I’ve taught students from diverse backgrounds—some preparing for conservatory auditions, others simply rediscovering joy through music. My experience as a professional performer, combined with my knowledge of both Western classical and Chinese musical traditions, allows me to adapt easily to each student's needs. Having grown up abroad (in the Central African Republic then in Saudi Arabia), I had the chance to learn the piano through an eclectic teaching.
In particular, I was a student of Gulmira Abdukhalikova, a Kazakh concert artist now based in Abu-Dhabi, who made me progress by applying the famous "Russian method". At 13, I won 3rd place in the International Piano Competition of Île de France at Maisons-Lafitte.

At the end of my adolescence, I participated in the Big Band of the Children of Jazz, within the framework of a festival organized each year in Barcelonette by Stéphane Kochoyan (who was also, at the time, artistic director of the Jazz Festival in Vienna).

Subsequently, I set sail for Canada where I lived for six years. I co-animated several Open-Mics of poetry, as a pianist-improviser, and I produced two albums: "Fragments" (2018) and "Echoes of space-time" (2019), the latter having been 100% improvised and recorded "one-shot" in the studio.
At the end of 2020, three years after having started giving piano lessons in Canada and France, I publish "The method of the self-taught pianist" as well as my own sight-reading manual.

I am a piano teacher with over 25 years of experience with students in different age groups from preschoolers, teenagers and adults. Offering a comprehensive and effective approach for students that are welcome to study in person or from the comfort of their home with online classes.

Her musical journey began at the age of five, inspired by her grandmother's Arabic piano classics. She transitioned to guitar during high school, where she played in rock bands, and continued her studies in jazz and classical guitar at CEGEP and university. Over the past six years, she has delved into the oud, integrating it into her original compositions.

With 26 years of teaching experience, Nadine offers instruction in a diverse range of styles, including Pop, Funk, Blues, Rock, R&B, Jazz, and Classical.
