In this simple, easy to understand beginning photography course, students will learn the basics and fundamentals of using a camera. We will be talking about how a camera works, what parts of the camera are used, how to edit photos, composition, and anything else that may supplement our desires! Whether you have your own personal DSLR or just the camera on your phone, all these fundamentals will still apply! Additionally, for students who want me to give them hands on experience, we can schedule times to go out and take our own photos! The camera has long since become my best ally when I go out into nature, and I no longer contemplate going without it. Capturing details, the light of the sunset, the inhabitants of the forest, or the immensity of the night sky is my way of being present and connecting with the environment that surrounds me. After working as a Northern Lights guide and photographer, I have noticed that quite a few people come with their cameras hoping to capture an aurora borealis, but without any prior experience in night photography. This art requires patience, technique and practice, especially when it comes to the Northern Lights where the light is constantly changing.
