Guitar lessons in Brussels. Playing guitar is not only fun, but it's also good for you. Put down that game controller for an hour a day, because playing guitar is a great way to exercise your brain. Did you know that studies show that playing a musical instrument both improves memory and activates creative thinking in the player's brain?

Amplification and connection cables provided during lessons at the teacher's home. Students only need to bring their guitar and a desire to learn.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Hello

Since I moved to Mechelen I'm very eager to show people my passion.

I'm 29 and have some experience in music. I had many bands and do some live and studio work.

I studied music in Hasselt (Professional Bachelor degree), this makes it possible for me to teach different music styles and music theory.

Professional jazz musician offers:
Guitar lessons private or in group
All ages & levels welcome
Electric, acoustic guitar or bass guitar

In addition to classical guitar training, I obtained a master's degree in jazz and contemporary music as a performing musician. I have lived in Paris and London, played with fantastic musicians and have been teaching young people and adults in Dutch, French and English for over 25 years.

The style and level of the lessons are of course dependent on the student. One wants to sing and be able to accompany themselves, the other wants to learn to improvise. Blues, rock, funk, soul, fusion, flamenco, hip hop, mambo, reggae, folk, bossa, disco, ska, samba, tango, classical, pop ... no problem, what matters is that you have fun in the to play.

I'll make transcriptions of your favorite music and show you how to play it, teach a solid technique so you can progress and give theory in small steps so you can see how it all fits together.

I teach on location, online or at my home (amplifier + lesson guitar available).
Are you interested or do you have any questions, just let us know.
I hope to hear from you soon!

French student who just moved to Antwerp, I've been giving lessons for years in France and it was such a pleasure, that I want to experience it here again. Specialized in Romanticism/Modern, I also improvise.

I can teach the good habits as a pianist to never hurt yourself and to quickly develop a good technique and musicality: Position, gesture, and practice tools.

I also love to link the pieces with images, paintings, and movies, to create a whole connected world of senses and art.

Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :)

For whom?
- Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing.
- Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams).
- Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge.
- Anyone who is curious about the language behind music.

What can you expect?
- Clear explanation, at your own pace.
- Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano.
- Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart.
- Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...).

About me
I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly.

Possible topics:
- Learn to read music.
- Scales, chords & harmony.
- Form and analysis (classical, jazz or pop).
- Rhythm, time signatures & tempo.
- Music theory for producers/songwriters.
- Songwriting.
- Preparation for exams or entrance tests.

Practical
- 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away).
- I provide materials, or we work with what you need.
- No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level.

🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.

Does your child enjoy singing, dancing or exploring sounds? These lessons offer a playful introduction to the world of music.

Through singing, movement, listening activities, rhythm games, improvisation and the discovery of different musical instruments, children develop their musical ear, sense of rhythm, creativity and self-confidence.

Each lesson is adapted to the age, interests and pace of the child. No previous musical experience is required. The main goal is for children to enjoy music while learning and expressing themselves in a positive and supportive environment.

Children will have the opportunity to discover a variety of musical instruments and develop a broad musical foundation before choosing a specific instrument in the future.

About me:

I hold a PhD in the Arts and a Master of Music from the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. I have several years of experience teaching young children in music academies in Flanders and am passionate about helping children discover music in a creative and enjoyable way.

Lessons can take place at my location and at the student’s home.

Would you like to learn classical guitar with a solid technique, a beautiful sound and a better understanding of music?

I offer personalised classical guitar lessons for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced students. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, musical interests and personal goals.

During the lessons, we can work on:

• Classical guitar technique and healthy posture
• Music reading, rhythm and music theory
• Tone production, coordination and musical expression
• Repertoire adapted to your level and interests
• Effective and structured practice methods
• Preparation for examinations, auditions and performances
• Solutions for tension and specific technical difficulties

My teaching combines technical development with musical expression. I do not only correct mistakes: I help students understand how to practise efficiently and become more confident and independent musicians.

I hold a Master of Arts in Music from the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp and graduated with honours from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). I have approximately 15 years of experience as a classical guitarist and five years of teaching experience in schools.
